Start8 stopped working

Start8 stopped working yesterday. When you click the start button, it opens the normal menu. I tried rebooting several times. Today I uninstalled/reinstalled and it still won't work.

Not sure if a Windows update broke it or not, but it def. not working anymore.

Are you seeing the Start8 button? (rather than the Windows 8.1 one)

If so could you double check your settings in Start8 as it may be you have accidentally set it to open the Win8 menu when you click the button rather than the Windows 7 style one.

I double checked and the issue was that I had accidently unchecked the setting to disable Windows 8 hot corners.

 

I use a Start8 button skin that is exactly the same as the default Windows 8 start menu, so I couldn't tell the Start hot corner was activating over it!
