Question: Will the weekly dev streams continue after the release of the base game?

(please say yes...) :)

It has been a weekly ritual for me to watch you guys on Friday and it would be a bummer if it stopped. Long live Gal Civ 3!!!

Question:  How much time does Brad have logged in on the AI so far?

Will we have more Diplomacy Options such as asking another Civ to go to war or not trade with other civs? Will they ask the same of us and get + or - points depending on our response?

Will Combat get another pass on balance? Currently Beams and Carriers are way over powered. Will we see some more evening out of the weapon types so all are viable good options both early, mid and late game?

So when is beta 5 and planatary invasion viewer being released?

FYI, if only I could have held off on my appetite for this game a few more days, I could have bought the early access to this game on steam for 24.99 (offer expires Monday).  I paid the regular 49.99 for the game 3 days ago on Tuesday...  Oh well, stardock deserves full price for the game.

Please answer these! :)

1. When will it be fixed that planetary Adjacency bonus effects are multiplied by their (-) negative values too? So that ex: -5% population growth will turn into -15% at level 3, if I set a value to negative (for drawbacks, side effects) Now they only add up to positive direction.

2.  How can we set Custom Races AI's primary weapon/defense research paths for play-style customization? So they won't research Beams all the time, instead they mix it up and change the basic only when conditions require.

3. Tech Tree - Building Improvement in-game editor, any time?

4. Aaaaand when will Beta 5 be released? :)

Thank you very much!!!

A couple of significant questions for the stream:

1. Currently despite the size of ships, all fired projectiles/beams are the same size. Will there be a tweaking of the firing of weapons in the future in respect to ship size? It does not make sense that currently a Tiny ship and a Large Ship firing the same huge caliber shell (imagine the recoil effect on the small ship) or have the same beam thickness. (the larger ship would have more reserve power.)

2. When playing in multiplayer, will be able to have pre-built ship designs (based on what techs we have availiable) saved for our custom civilization, similar to Gal Civ 2 singleplayer where you were able the architect every single ship for your custom civ and use them depending on what modules you have unlocked and how much mass it can carry at the time.

3. Will we be able to have carriers use a custom designed fighter hull if it uses all the most recent techs? I wouldn't really like to use carriers for my custom faction otherwise as it kinda kills the immersion, also I would love to design the huge carrier to have the exact same hulls static and fused to the floor of a hanger or landing strip on the carriers. It's another reason why I would love custom designed hulls availiable for carrier fighters.

Thank you!

EDIT: Shout out for the remembrance of the famed Sci-Fi actor Leonard Nimroy (March 26, 1931-February 27, 2015), you will continue to forever live long and prosper in my memories!  X(

I would like to throw my support for diplomacy being able to request attacking another faction (or making peace with another faction) as to break treaties with other factions, etc.

I also support weapons scaling to size of the ship. Actually, I would like small, medium and large choices of each weapon, A large would not be able to fit on a tiny and would have a slower reload than a smaller weapon. Also large vessels could mount secondary smaller weapons to deal with small/tiny spam ships instead of using their large weapons and losing massive damage (say it hits for 100 damage, but the small vessel only has 20 hp). Use the large weapons for larger ships and smaller weapons for smaller vessels.

Could we the ai to build ships like humans? Say beam weapons, but they notice our ships use kinetic or missiles, so the build defenses for that and use beams as the weapon. Currently the templates are the same for defense and weapons or a little of everything. I never see them load up on one weapon and use different defenses.

Definitely raise what the ai thinks techs are worth. It is too easy to trade for all techs with the ai for cash.

thanks

This is going to sound perhaps a bit silly, but perhaps could we have a moment of silence during the livestream for the passing of Leonard Nimoy (sorry to break it to people who hadn't heard yet)?  It shouldn't affect the length of the stream, since it's variable.  But it might be a nice touch given how much Star Trek has obviously influenced GC through the years.

Thirding this.  It was always nice to be able to pay off another race to do my dirty work for me without them knowing. :D  Of course, it was fair does when the AI attacked me due to another faction wanting to take me down a peg or five.  But, hey, free excuse to go plundering with no dippo hit.  Win-Win!  }:)

Hello! Go job so far!

I don’t like how life support work.

For me, life support restriction should refer to the number of week a ship can survive without resupply. Right now, ship never resupply. Ever…

So here is a proposition.

Split life support in 2 different tech.

Life support for all ship that basically are only use for one-way trip. Constructor, colony, invasion and freighter. Those ship are usually crewed and inhabited by thousands to billions. If possible, I would even force those ship to land on planet and starbase to resupply.

Communication dish: All other ship would use this new tech. Those ship would not use any life support module and would never have to resupply. If we can feed 2.5 billion colonists with a basic life support, sustaining a couples hundreds should not be a burden.

The communication dish would work just as life support work now. But instead, of being a limit where ship cannot go, it would be possible to explore, attack and survey beyond this point. Ship ordered out of the communication zone would disappear in the FOW. You would not be able to give any other order to the ship. It would follow your last order, than rush back to the command zone. When back to the com zone, you would get the result of all exploration and review of the combat it add to deal with. Maybe our robot news could tell us about the trip!

Again; Love this game!

I think the current life support system is a good choice. At a specific tech level you can go so far and not further. That's a simple concept. But one could combine your idea with starbases. It is quite lame to just spam starbases at the borders to increase your ship range instead of researching the life support techs. You could nerf this startegy a bit by enforcing ships to have some type of resupply mechanism at starbases which are outside of the non-starbase lifesupport zone.

To Iconia and beyond! Loved that old fashioned (unfinished) hard information screen on other planets/leaders in the diplomacy menu. Just because I'm very retro probably. But still... great!

Question: How do you plan to model pirates, if you do at all?

Will they be a minor faction?
Will they be a rogue group someone can sponsor against their enemies?
Will they appear through events?
Will they have a chance of appearing on an uncolonized world, or via event, or via an unhappy world?
Will they have an outpost on the main map, that can appear during gameplay or map generation?
Will they appear after a race surrenders on some of their worlds?

I also wanted to add I am really, really happy you've put in personalities for the custom races, for the regular races to distinguish them from each other and to allow for many combinations for players to mod in their own.

Thank you for that. I hope with expansions you might even release more if you create new races :), but that's only asking for icing on the cake. To get these personalities means a lot for modders and helping the variety of our opponents.
