Non-widescreen and multiple monitor setups?

I use several 5:4 monitors on my home machine to get a good amount of workspace cheaply. However, OTC's maximum horizontal resolution seems to be capped to just one monitor, which creates one small problem and one significant one.

 

Minor quibble - menu text is a little small in this mode:

 

More significant issue, the market / black market / stock market panels to the left and right of the screen appear to be fixed width relative to screen height. While this obviously works fine on widescreen resolutions, it feels a touch cramped when the map only gets maybe a third of the screen?

I only have a single 4:3 monitor, so I have the same issues you do, but spreading to multi-monitors wouldn't help me.

What would help me is the ability to zoom farther out. The current furthest zoom is still so close-in that I can only see a small portion of the map. It makes it very difficult to get a clear picture of what's going on with my opponents.
