Start8 Requires Reactivation

Is the Activation Server Down?

The Start8 installation on my Windows 8.1 PC has worked well for over a year. Now I am being asked to reactivate the installation. Entering the activation code does not work. Signing up for the 30 day evaluation also fails. It appears that the activation server is down. the only thing I have done is reboot the laptop and installed a iTunes update.

Sorry to complain, but I don't need this on a Saturday morning when I have work to do. If anyone from Stardock is monitoring the forums over the weekend, nip into work and reboot the activation server, please. Thanks :-)

Sorry for the troubles. We are having server issues and are working to get everything restored asap.

Still can't activate, tried re-installing, used my product key, even tried the 30 day trial but constantly get the message that it can't connect to the server.  Very frustrating.

Hi

It is still giving problems. 1300 hours Sunday GMT +1100 (Australia AEDST) and while I was working, the Activate Stardock Start8 prompt comes up for no apparent reason, saying it cannot find the licence key.

I have Activated via my account and that appears to have accepted. Just a bit annoying.

Oh, and still a great product !!! :-)

cheers

Tony

The problem was originally caused by Stardocks server being down. The problem was resolved on the 21st February. I had to re-register my Start8 installation, but I have not had any problems since. Are you sure your issue is due to the problem discussed above? If so you waited a longer than most to fix it.
