Everything Microsoft comes out with for me is a waste, they just keep making things more complicated and non-functional. Go back in time Microsoft.... remember the K.I.S.S. principle? You and a lot of others need to go back to it.

Anybody here remember the K.I.S.S. principle?  :)

Yea, I've personally experienced this with the OneDrive.

With Dropbox, transferring photos from my phone to PC is completely automatic.

With the OneDrive, I have to log onto the OneDrive website, select the photos that I sent from my phone, and then select download to my PC. (and yes I have the OneDrive app on my PC). These extra steps completely eliminate the convenience factor.

And if there is a way to automatically transfer photos from my phone directly to my PC hard drive, I haven't been able to find the setting for it.

I didn't see a whole lot for the PC, seemed like mostly mobile. Almost everyone I know says that Win8 hurt PC sales and the cause of MS focusing on mobile and subscriptions is mainly due to lack of PC sales. It might seem difficult for one to screw themselves but it seems that MS has a knack for it. I think it's a shame but I'm only a customer, they don't care what I think.

Glad I'm retired, I wouldn't want to try and keep up with it all now a days.
