How complete is the game?

I'm thinking about buying but am curious of how much game is still in development?

A couple of questions

In multiplayer, if a player drops out does the AI take over, if so, can the player get back in the game if he was disconnected?

Are there any parts of the game that have yet to be implemented or is it just in need of fine tuning?

From the posts I've seen, including this one: https://forums.offworldgame.com/460877/page/1/

It appears that this is at the level of beta, meaning things work pretty well, and the core gameplay is where it should be.  Graphics and sound are supposed to be getting updates, maybe some UI tweaks, and faction re-balancing as needed.  On the side, I think they're in the infancy on team games right now, although they've hammered FFA pretty well.

Correction: I have no reason to say that team games are in their infancy, except that they've only streamed one so far.  I think they are  looking at that game mode for tweaking, but it did function well from what they recently posted.

i don't have a timestamp, but  early in the podcast that Island Dog just linked Soren goes over the state of the game and where its going.

The game is very fun, and the UI is refined. Art, sound, etc will be done over time, although it's not that bad currently. Also balancing.

The podcast tells me that it's worth picking up now, guess I'll find out about the multiplayer upon release. Look forward to playing.

There's a bunch of video's where the devs are playing multiplayer games on youtube.

Here's one to get you going:

Bought, can't wait for tomorrow.

I got burnt out on rts games years ago after playing so much command and conquer, age of empires, etc. but this looks so fresh.

I 'm not sure whether the game is worth $ 35, @ the moment.
I've seen the video, but I think contents & variety missing a lot.

I know what you're saying QKunisaki.  For me, this is so different, and I'm a sucker for economic games when they're fun (which is rare), so this game really had the hook that hooked me.  I was willing to pay a little more than I normally would, and it was discounted during the pre-order, which made the purchase more urgent.

I hear what your saying, but judging by the videos, games are relatively quick which I like, and more content means more micromanaging maybe to the point where there's too much to try and keep up with. It looks like things can get frantic and tense with the current content, too. The $5 discount swayed me a little too.

Price is subjective. If that is a deciding factor for you, start putting $5 a month into a jar somewhere. I look at it as me taking an informed risk on a product that may or may not ever ship, but is complete enough to have a good 10+ hours of fun with.

And as a perk I get to give some feedback to developers who actually want to hear it!

I don't play online, so I 'm very unsure whether the game is something for me or not.
As for myself, i'll wait a little bit :-).

I believe the game has a single player campaign, but it looks to have somewhat of a board game vibe to me making it ripe for multiplayer.

From what I've seen, they made a pretty robust and personality strong AI.
