Complete List of Errors Posted for Beta 6 Patch 1 [0.95.5.0] (& older) *EOL*

Because of the game release of next week and the constant updates to the game over the next week to get it ready this post will not be updated going forward.

I would like to thank everyone for the appreciation they gave me for keeping this post up to date.  Fortunately the game is being released next week, so in attempts to minimize the appearance of a buggy game I will no longer be keeping this post up to date.

 With this being said, I would love to continue contributing any way I can to benefit this game and anything else I can help with.

 

Reported Issues for Beta 6 Patch 1 (0.95.5.0) and older, please note on older linked errors if it is still present in Beta 6 Patch 1.

Also please note which version on any new bug post issues.

Here is a complete list of issues that already have forum topics, Please add to these topics as they exist already or follow the requested steps to create a support ticket or attempt a solution.  (Note there are some general complaints in some of these posts that have been left out as they may or may not be bugs)

Note Raynman has suggested Support tickets on several of these posts.  Support tickets can be done as follows

If you are having issues with crashes to desktop, please adjust settings (resolution, map sizes, anti-aliasing)  See picture at bottom of post.  Then note in support tickets what steps were taken, example didn't crash at these settings but, crashed using these settings.

Stardock has asked that we please respond with exactly what is happening; exact steps on how to reproduce the issue; map size and at what point in the game it occurs. Please also supply any screenshots \ video clips that may help illustrate the issue. Jing is a free app for that can be used for this:

For support where examining saves is required, names of ships, planets and starbases, etc, are extremely helpful in their attempts to reproduce the issue.

On an immense map I also had the Drengin declare war on me without any meeting.  In my case, they didn't show up in the diplomacy screen.

Bamdorf, I have had this happen twice now on Immense maps. I get a pop up from them on a dialogue about how tasty I am. I tell them to get lost. When I got to the power tab, I see that I am at war with them. 

At no time did I think this was a ' we are going to attack you' message. Just typical Drengin being rude...

A couple more I've noticed:

1) Wiggling/vibrating icons. When on an insane map, at least, the planet icons vibrate for a time after you scroll in or out. Not sure if anyone else is seeing this...

2) Wiggling/vibrating ships. This has been an issue ever since they smoothed out the movement to avoid the swimming back and forth along hexes, but it is more noticeable now with the engine afterburner effects.

3) Outreach III not working. The benevolent ideology option for +5 colony population on future planets is not adding 5.

4) Map settings change, duplicate map is generated. Oddly enough, the quickstart produces new maps but hitting "new" often generates a repeat map, even if settings like number of planets or frequency of resources is changed.

That's what I've found for now. Not sure if any of these can/should be submitted as a ticket...

I would recommend creating a ticket especially for the vibrating ship/planet issue, if you could try to get a video capture of this and send stardock the link in the ticket.  That is what they asked for when I sent a ticket in for in in Beta 4.

I've seen this several times in the two games I've been playing so far, why it occurs, I'm not sure what triggers it but it happens on and off. The info box the pops up when you scroll over a ship no longers shows certain info, like how many moves remain, etc. Not sure if it's a bug (though sometimes it's there and others it's not so I'm assuming it is) or intended:

And the fog of war, once I made an exploration treaty with the Altarians and I wasn't able to see within their explored territory like I should have. I did take a pic of the treaty showing it was in affect but it did not get placed and was replaced on the clipboard by my next screenie...

FOW treaty allows your FOW to be cleared from that point on by the other races ships/planets/starbases.  Any previously explored territory by them remains uncleared for you, at least that is how I've understood it to this point.

I understand what you're saying but that's not what was happening. We both gave each other the treaty (just like I've done with the other civs) but this was the only civ that didn't show anything at all after giving me the treaty. I was only able to see what I had previously explored while going through their territory.I haven't come across and tech that would negate this treaty immediately upon giving it.

 

Also, unrelated to the above but relates to the sensor range. I mentioned this before but probably didn't explain it well. When I research the sensor techs I'll often build a ship loaded with as many as possible and send them to all my planets so that I can see every where within my territory and then some. When you first load a saved game, nonee of your expanded sensor range shows up until you either move one of those sensor ships or hit the next turn button and then it's like turning a light on where all the sensors "wake up" and show their true range.

Credits change is WAD as well. (and will continue to be changed, expect a new base value in patch 3, we are doing a lot of play testing with it).

Mars not giving a colonizaing event is also WAD. We didn't want to hit the player with another new mechanic right off of the bat, you will need to travel outside of your solar system to get your first ideology event.

Combat Viewer Issues.

Displayed several ships being destroyed, however, after battle they were still alive.
