Ah, those were the good old days.

I too prefer thinner frames and rollup buttons. But since WB allows rollup on a double click of the titlebar, skinners have abandoned the button.

I seem to remember other extra buttons used to be added as well. Seems like I remember media buttons? Maybe others?

It used to be easier to set the roll up, I think there was an actual setting for it, now you have to hunt it down. I'll start putting them on, thanks for the reminder.

RND, tried the double click, didn't work, ya have to right click then left click and it rolled up.

I put the roll up buttons on all my skins. The forums use to rock. Now what is going on. Never mind no additional comment.

I would love to see some skins from 2005 updated so that i could use them on my machine.
But i know how time consuming it can be to adjust things.

I also like skins that have a small windowframes and also I tend to run a small taskbar even on windows8.
Note to myself: wanted to ask Dani if it is possible to animate mouseover in the startmenu  
 

benmanns...if you make use of the Wiki and Vampothika's lessons and pm questions to Masters like Lightstar, you can learn to update skins for yourself.

Emphasis on "for yourself". You can't distribute them in any manner, but you can use the updated versions on your machine/machines.

Im aware of the process Doc- but when it comes to animating or inserting sounds for skins i think nobody knows better than Dani
or i could try and ask MrPaul
maybe i check his Gui submission for answers or LS can tell me how many frames i would need for the mouseover to recognize that i want an animation instead of a 5 stage picture, since i think adding more would be confusing because of the order...  

For example on the left hand side Program list i would like to have a color indictaion on the left of the mouseover for each listed program if possible with the used colorcode that is defined by the program icon or the program itself and when i mouseover i want that stripe of color gently animated to pull out.
I wanted to do this for a long time but i think it is not possible i know i can have one mouseover that would then used for each listed program.

WC forums used to be so interesting and lively way bay when, especially with such old timers as Night Train, Sleeping Dragon and Bichur.  I'm sure there are many others who contributed to mke the forums warm and friendy places as well... if only they'd all come back from time to time.

Sadly, the forums nowadays consists of 3 million lurkers who NEVER contribute, and a couple of dozen regulars who do their best to keep things going despite the huge imbalance and little else activity.  For mine, lurkers shouls only be able to read 10 to 20 posts before a script kick in on their account that blocks them from reading anything on the forums unless they contribute regular written posts of their own.

I also propose 2 teir subscriptions where contributors pay a lower amount and lurkers pay the lion's share for simply being takers without giving anything back.

Orright, now I've had a gripe/whinge/bitch, back to the WBs.

Yeah, while I like a bit of bling here and there to make things interesting, I do like the simplistic, older style WBs with narrow borders and toolbars, etc.  And the rollup button, well lately I've been using Dark Tone by Bleumart.  It is a dark skin with blue buttons... including rollup.

Well, as a skinner, I do like variety.  I enjoy all styles of skinning, including the smaller window frames.  They say variety is the spice of life and definitely not boring, and it does give something for everyone to enjoy.  There use to be a lot more simplistic blinds in the past, and it does seem things have turned around a bit.  And, yes, the forums use to be a really fun place.  I remember threads of just plain, nonsense, fun threads, and I do miss a lot of people that use to be around more.

Though I don't need/use the roll up funtion I still have it set to roll up on right clicking, but still I get this shit, too on various applications. (W7 and W8)

So don't you sheesh on us, RND, you young twirp.
