Super Secret Beta 4 Release Notes!

Our previous announcements of corporate 'partnerships' in GalCiv3 were met with overwhelmingly positive support (or so we are told via emails being read aloud from our indentured servants) So we're excited to announce a ton more exciting features for GalCiv3 in Beta 4!

  • No more Combat Viewer! It's been totally 'revamped', 'synergized', 'streamlined', 'realigned' and 'data portal driven'. It is now a PBEM mechanic where you send our centralized combat server one of 3 tatical options: Rock, Scissor, Paper. Then our advanced cloud based tactical algorithms determine the most optimal outcome. You will be AMAZED at how awesome the new tactical AI is! Even the Altarians are a war death machine using this new battle AI!
  • We know StarControl is a big fan favorite. So we're doing a great crossover! Imagine this! SPATHI MARINES! 10x less effective than normal marines for land invasions. (Spaceships? Why would we put StarControl spaceships in GalCIv3? That's crazy talk! Is that what you wanted? Yeesh!)
  • We are aware that social media is inexplicably important to people. So we're implementing features that puts our new cloud based AI to use. The game will auto-spam messages on Twitter and Facebook about your performance. The AI will mock you on social media in new and innovative ways. (after the AI cheats a few military fleets to invade your homeworld on turn 5)
  • We're also excited to announce a new mobile app that will allow you to view your stats and control your game remotely! Play GalCiv3 from anywhere! Never again will you be away from GalCiv3! (only available on Blackberry Passport)

We hope these new features will be great additions to the GalCiv franchise. We look forward to reading your feedback and drinking your sweet sweet tears of sorrow.

Oh, is that all ( ). I was afraid you were going to say they had lined up corporate sponsors and added Drengin endorsements of BloodBeer ('from Bloodweiser, the King of Tears!') or Iridium endorsements of phones, or something like that. :-"

Okay if we're doing fantasy Beta 4 patch notes then...

Unreleased Beta 4 v 0.70.0 Notes January 22, 2015

We have completely revamped Galactic Civilizations III and believe that this will be the best game ever.  Thank you for the support of all our hard work in the upcoming months to come as we iron out the final touches of the game.

  • Combat viewer (We are pleased to announce that this has turned out better than expected and it will blow up your computer)
  • In cooperation with Mohawk Games, we have now tied in the upcoming Offworld Trading Company Game with Galactic Civilizations III.  As you colonize your planet you will be pleased to note that you will be able to play a mini game (early release for those founders of Offworld Trading Company) to get maximization of your planet.
    • Continuing down this path as you increase the trade goods of your planet, your profit in the larger game increases.
    • Be careful not to loose ownership in your company as you will loose that planet to the pirates.
  • Introducing 5,000 minor races (1 for each Founder)
  • Introducing 10,000 new galactic events. (Up to 3 per Founder)
  • Addition of 100 new United Planet measures.
  • Unlocking of 3 new map sizes including a sneak peak at Universe (10 times the size of the previous largest galaxy mentioned)
  • Cyberdyne Skynet AI that will learn from your game play at an exponential rate and eventually take over your computer and the world.
  • New Technology "Godlike Terraforming" This will allow you to eventually build on every tile on the planet at huge resource costs.  You may unlock any 50% land tile at a cost of 1 Terridium for the first tile, 2 for the second, 4 for the third.  (Doubling that number for every 10% less land coverage.)

As always we look forward to your feedback so don't hesitate to let us know how we can make this game even better.  With every complaint please offer a suggestion on how to fix the issue.

I like the tablet version idea. From what I can see this would be the best tablet strategy game. Right now i play freeciv. I tried others, but they are to simple.

Upcoming in Beta 5: planetary modeling taken to the max as GalCiv 3 introduces 'You Are There' systems. Every person in the Universe will be individually modeled with name, personal characteristics, politics, economic factors and military service record. Every Founder will be present, at least until combat begins or disease and disaster strike.

Players are advised to acquire a supercomputer as resource requirements will increase.

I thought Brad was going to do a 4x game integrated with Roberts Space Industries? We actually have to fight in ships we fly for each planet we conquer and then transfer our precious selves to Transports for some ground action?

Where is that combo game?

Hmmm.... haven't heard about it, I wish there were more combo games out there.

Something I wish EA would have done (because of copyrights)

SimTower where you could place it in

SimCity.

Both individual games that you could own on their own but add things together too...

Who knows...

I know this is off topic but relevant to the previous post, Streets of SimCity did tie in to Simcity 2000 and so where you build the city in SimCity and then you could Drive around and blow stuff up in Streets also simcoptor tied into simcity 2000 as well, Another game that i know of was Silent Hunter 2 and Destroyer Command where you could play multiplayer and the destroyers would be hunting the u-boats so its been done before and would be nice to see some games that do tie in together again

It was actually SimCity3000 and Streets of SimCity, then SimCity 4 just had that as part of the game.

Okay Edit:  I looked it up and it was SimCity 2000, I know I had it I guess I didn't realize it was that far back :)

About combo games first I want to take spore, sins of a solar empire, StarCraft, civworld, virtual village, empire earth, rise of nations, and shattered suns into one game. With galactic civilizations ship builder.

My second game is this I would combine call to power, panzer general, and civilization with galactic civilization, endless space, masters of orion.  Can come one make these two hybrid games please!!!
