Started playing again, disappointed with what's changed if anything since I last played

Frogboy,

I know this seems easy from an end user perspective but programming is harder but seriously, for the love of all that is holy.  How hard, exactly, is it to make some of these changes?

I am in a city.  I have a bunch of troops including heavy armored guys with bonus while defending and very expensive magical ranged attackers.
PUT THE GODDAMNED GROUND POUNDER IN THE FRONT ROW AND PUT THE RANGED GUYS IN THE BACK.

I'm going to start a new city, I have a pioneer being escorted by several troops.  Wandering monster comes along.

PUT THE GODDAMNED PIONEER IN THE BACK AND THE MELEE GUYS IN THE FRONT.

Jeesus, man.  I want to love your games but throw me a freaking bone here.  Do something intelligent.

So I've got this big, fat army.  It used to have some expensive Mages but they died before they ever got to do something LIKE FRACKING MORONS.  I take out their biggest threat.   I figure what the heck, I'm pissed off.  I'll hit quick resolve.

My hero, with ranged attack, was killed in quick resolution.  The guy who was on a horseback, had a ring of precog, was facing an army of a bunch of melee and they had a grand total of 2 units of slave archers.  Oh.  And he was the only thing injured after the FREAKING FRONT ROW MAGES.

It is very wise to give a game an F- based on small issues. You should have given an E minus minus!
