Fighting against the world - Suggested New No Opponents Mode

Stardock, can you make a new mode for LH random maps where Conquest Victory is disabled and there are no regular opponents, and maybe a new victory condition of "Conquer All Wildlands"?  This would be like, for example, HOMM2/3 maps where there is only 1 player and different victory conditions.

Not much time for questing in Sorcerer King.  And sometimes I like playing a game when I'm up against a hostile environment and I build my cities, level-up my armies and not worry about any opposing players.  Anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to make an option where if you set opponents to 0 you get a player vs. environment game.

I really like this option. Particularly in a game like FE:LH which is fantasy based.

What happens once you win a game (havent won a game yet.....)

Do you have the option to continue.....

If that is the case, then you can set up 1 opponent at very low level of difficulty, and proceed from there. You aganist the world

 AFAIK, when the game ends, the game ends.  I don't think there is an option to continue at the moment.  But it would still be nice to have an official new mode, with a "Conquer All Wildlands" win type, and maybe "Complete All Quests", provided the Master Quest is not available.

When you win a game, the game ends and the credits roll.  You cannot continue the game after you satisfy one of the four victory conditions.

You could do what trisha suggested when starting a game by selecting only one other faction to be in the world.  Make sure you don't pick Resolyn or Yithrill or any faction whose leader is "paranoid" or they might attack you for no reason.  I would also pick a faction that is aligned with you so you will be more likely to have good relations with them.

Or, another alternative would be to just disable the "conquest" victory condition when starting a new game.  Then you could destroy the one other faction(s) and the game would continue, since destryoing all remaining factions would not be a vicotry condition if you disable consquest victory.

That would allow you to just reclaim the wildlands.  Since the final quest is part of the wildlands you would have to clear that to clear "all" the wiledlands and if you save that for last, you could consider clearing the wildlands to be your victory condition.  Of course, you would still ahve the option to shortcut the game by doing the final quest before you cleared all of the wildlands, but that would be your choice.

@stevemorasch

At the moment you can't disable "Conquest" victory, but that would certainly be one way to implement it if Stardock was to do it (Requiring one victory condition, but not necessarily "Conquest"). Good idea.

I did not know that.  Thanks for pointing that out.  Guess I never tried to disable conquest victory.   It would be great if they could add that ability in a future patch.

In the meanwhile then, I guess picking one opposing faction and making sure to pick one that is aligned (empire and empire or kingdom and kingdom) with a leader who is not "paranoid" or any other traits that might lead to war seems like the way to go for a "clear wildlands" victory.
