Windows 8 / 8.1 compatibilty

ATTN:Support Desk

https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/

Why does the webpage say that it is not compatible with windows 8?  IS this just the plain CursorFX software? I believe is not called Cursorfx Plus anymore.

Just curious because I have ran it in windows 8 since it was released, with version 2.11 installed, no with windows 8.1 and it still clips along beautifully. Occsianlly in a game  I have to use the Cntrl-Shift-C to disable it so the in-game cursor works, and re-enable when done (same cntrl-shft-C)and all is fine again.

Please clear this up for me.  I am a tech and hate it when webpages give incorrect information.

Thanks

I am a tech and I hate it when people think they need special attention by shouting in large bold fonts.

And I went to school and know what 'incompatible' means...;)

Seriously, if a program is listed as 'incompatible' it means it has not yet passed all checking possible or that the frequent updates to the OS are preventing completion of said checking.

If you are having no actual issues with CursorFX then there's no real reason to complain.  Others may not be so fortunate...;)

Sorry about that having issues with forums default font size. 6 levels of text sizes. I selected all text at least 4 times and tried to change sizes however each consecutive change changed just parts of the text. The original size was to bleeding edge small for even one with good eyesight to read. I got frustrated and pressed submit twice by accident. Sorry to all. And jafo, thanks for replying, I understand now that's it's a quality control check issue.

For both of you, for one (myself) who has self esteem issues, the way both those comments are written,  may tend to scare people away from your software, forums. This not the first post I have made whigh has had rude sounding replies from users.

Please just be conscious of what you are writing. Answer the question friendly like.

Thanks

I'm also a little bit irritated that a program being sold right now, sent out via "special offer E-mail" is not compatible with the latest Windows but uses Win7 as most compatible one. Luckily I didn't buy it but tried it first as freeware

Yeah, they need either to update it to 8.1 or put the disclaimer higher and more predominately on the page.

I just bought it and found out.

I am currently running  CursorFx 2.11 on Windows 8.1 with absolutely no issues in the Modern Start Screen or anywhere else in the OS.  Some games that have an animated cursor you do need to use "Cntrl-Shft-C" to disable it though.

The trial does  not have the fix included for the Modern Start Screen, which is in the Full Software package after purchasing.  Just pay for the full software, its cheap on sale right now.

If you have purchased it, make sure you have downloaded the full software from the Stardock Store, https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount

and login with your email and password that you setup when purchasing the software.  Download the Full software, and uninstall the trial.  Install the Full software package.

All should be good,

Cheers

/windows 8.1, cursorFX v2.11, downloaded some trails.  Can't find a trails folder within the CursorFX folder in my programs/Stardock/CurFX.  v2.ll runs very well.

Thanks for any help!

Hi

Your default data save folder is here : C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX

You can only download full cursor packages from WinCustomize.  I don't believe you can download just Cursor Trails.  The only trails I believe are included with the Cursor pack downloaded or the ones built in to CursorFX.

Hope that helps

Just that there are like 3 threads on the subject already. -I'm sorry if I upset you

-Another thing, when the OP (you) scream like that people are bound to get a little irri ;)

Didn't realized that I screamed.  The only shout I did was HAPPY NEW YEAR and I shout again to you.  I had made some trails which I guess worked on other versions so I wanted to use them again.  Sure am getting chatty aren't I. :X Time for a nap!
