Confused & frustrated over skins in MyColors

Hi

I know this subject has been covered but it is just too darn confusing for me. So, I'll just ask outright. I purchased several MyColors themes mainly for the blinds & icon packages. I cannot access them anymore. WebGizmo's recent Winstep theme Gloss Mint reminded me just how good they were. They are in my Stardock account but the download link is only for the now defunct MyColors install exe. Can anyone please put those blinds & icon packages as separate items in wincustomize's databases or at least show me a viable way to extract them myself? I would even re-purchase as a MasterPack if possible. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply Gasper, but everywhere I've looked MyColors is required to be installed & I'm not going down that track again.

When you bought the suite,Stardock does provide another alternative DL link for no encryption of Windowblinds skin which meant you don't need Mycolors anymore since it got abandoned.

In my account the Gloss themes still shows as a MyColors_setup.exe download. Actually all 18 that I purchased show this.

I found Gloss Mint in Theme Manager,  but I had to extract the suite file with 7-zip to install the .wba file.

Sorry, Al, forgot the quotes (then the net dropped off - again). Anyway, that's the same here. My download links only contain the MC.exe file. Where are the theme files?

Log into your "My Products" at Stardock and see if you already have them listed in the standard format.

https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products

You're looking for a description that starts with "Premium Theme" instead of "My Colors".  Scroll through the whole page, they may be scattered around a little bit.

That's only for the non-branded themes such as the Gloss packs.  The branded themes such as Harley-Davidson, Ford Mustang, Corvette, or the basketball themes won't be there.

Thanks DaveRI, I've extracted the Premium IPs & WBs from the Suites I own plus Aero Midnight, Gloss Mint & Think Green from Theme Manager. I have several MyColors themes (Ankh, Music, Pirate etc) & they're listed just empty. Oh well, as I said at the start, if anyone can put them up as separate blinds & IPs on Wincustomize I'm happy to pay to get them again, well, not exactly happy, but I would.

I understand that you had the MyColors versions of those.  At a later point in time, Stardock added the standard non-MyColors versions of those to the My Products page.  (That's what Gaspershooters was referring to in Reply 1). I don't know if there may have been some criteria, such as an active OD subscription at a particular point or a time frame since the MyColors purchase, but there was no need to buy the themes again.  So if you haven't thoroughly looked through your entire My Products page for them, I encourage you to do so, I would expect those to be there. Again, scroll through the entire page. You're looking specifically for:

Premium Theme Ankh

Premium Theme Music

Premium Theme Pirate

Premium Theme [any other non-branded MyColors theme you bought]

If they're not there, then I'm afraid I'm as confused as everyone else.  I hope they are, good luck.

So the branded themes that were purchased can no longer be downloaded and used?

They are supposed to end of sale, therefore no further download for new users, but for old customers, there is one solution for that at Reply #6 links,you may check it out.

Reply #6 won't help me. When I log into my download page the mycolors that I purchased are found under the order history but there are no serials given, only the order number and a download link for the software. What good is it to download the software if you no longer have the serials.

What refer to Reply #6 is simply a way to make branded theme (encrypted WB skin) work without Mycolors, not a technical support to obtain/retrieve your theme.

serials

"Well you made me look"  ;)  ...

I fished out a couple of my old email receipts for MyColors purchases and the key was listed on them towards the bottom, so if you're an email receipt pack-rat like me you might give that a shot. My Products page also does still list the keys for them, so if yours doesn't that may (or may not?) be something Stardock support could re-link.

Sometimes I wonder if you think everyone is brain dead except yourself just like when you were arguing with Jim. I am not stupid and understood the purpose of reply #6. I was simply making a statement referring to how no work around is an answer for me because of lost serials. You can interpret that however you wish but your condescending answer with the rolling of the eyes serves no purpose. At least DaveRI gave a reply that was meaningful. Thanks for that DaveRI.
