[eMOD] - Terraforming mod 1.0

TERRAFORMING v1.0

Included in Between Life and Death

Want to make your kingdom a land of green and fertile forests? An archipelago Kingdom of the waves surrounded by ocean? An empire of death surrounded by desert, or a hell-hole of fire like Mordor?

What once was Plains and Water...

Now you can, and how you shape the land will unlock special spells, equipment, and strategies. By terraforming your lands to burning lands, water, forest, desert, plains, or hills, you'll gain the favor of one or more elements and unlock cool new spells.

This mod makes terraforming a small game within the game to enhance the character of each element of magic. Developing your elemental schools is now even more rewarding than before.

This is the second beta, with a huge number of bug fixes. I think it plays well now and makes the game more fun: let me know what you think.

INSTALLATION: See the attached README

Thanks to fsemprini for the great graphics. Thanks to Brad and Derek, as always, for giving us such a fantastically moddable game!

More graphics added, more coming.

Cool thing about terraforming spells in FE:LH is that they can place Stamps (pre-generated terrain pieces). You should check out the volcano spell if you want to push the envelope with terraforming.

Can't get a stamp to get placed other than the 'valcano' stamp in Curgen's Volcano. Have you done it successfully?

In Children of Storm there is an item called the Horn of Resounding which uses a 13x13 stamp.

Isn't there a spell condition you can set that the target tiles have to be empty? What happens if you set <SpellTargetType>EmptyTile</SpellTargetType> and maybe <SpellTargetTileOccupied>Empty</SpellTargetTileOccupied>

AFAIK, the EmptyTile+Empty condition only applies to the "center" square (1x1) where the spell/stamp is being cast. Then, the stamp expands using that specific square as its middle (Destroying everything).

Exactly what I saw when I toyed around - I am guessing the reason Curgen's Volcano is so expensive, and there is no create mountain spell or other terraforming spells, is because they know how abusable they could be.

Also, I noticed that placing in a stamp in water doesn't work as intended, the engine will place land in water but will default it to beach or plains.

I might PM you guys(heavenfall/primal) on this, I've spent a lot of time tinkering around with terraforming in this engine but you likely still know more than I!
