Is anyone viewing my bug reports?

I've noticed that quite a few of my post have zero views, some being more than a week old.

I'm certainly no heavy hitter bug finder, but I like to contribute what I can. And it seems like they are mostly ignored unless one of the heavy hitters pipes in.

Now, I'm not mad, offended, or anything silly like that. It's just a matter of economics.

If my reports are not in demand, I simply won't bother supplying them. Just save time and bandwidth.

Peace and love all.

We go through the forums and read the feedback and reports.  We can't always respond to everything, but we do take notice.

We appreciate the feedback.  Always. :)

But it's not a matter of responding, the views are zero.

So unless a developer's viewing activity doesn't register on the view counter, that means it hasn't been looked at by anyone.

It currently reads as 10 views to me. (I've looked at it a couple of times, you probably have, one dev did to reply... so that figure of 10 is probably accurate...but rounded to the nearest 10 as all viewing figures are. Not very encouraging but probably accurate. I know sometimes it takes hours or days to update the number of views though, and I don't know if that counts unique visits or includes the same user viewing multiple times).

I'm not just referring to the "game breaking bug" thread, but other threads that I posted more than a week ago.

There is a bug in the forum software that only shows the view count with an accuracy of tens (rounded down). This means when your post is read 9 times it will still show as 0 views. And it only counts unique views by logged-in users, so no guest-view counts and multiple visits are counted as 1.

The reply count however is accurate.

It annoys me, but this is the way it is. And they have bigger fish to fry, like the not working quote system. And i have them rather spend time on developing games than on some (minor) forum software issues.

Thanks for the clarification Thecw, I wasn't sure of the exact details. Also I'm glad it's not just me having trouble with quotes. I'm not sure how long that's been broken but it's annoying.

Don't worry too much about the view count.  It's not completely reliable.

Also, the broken quotes are known and will be fixed.

@Island Dog

This is a very stable and reliable third party forum software. It may be worth a look.
