I installed Start8 and ModernMix, on 30 day trial. I click on the start button, and I see what I saw before I installed them. A list of my apps in modern format. How do I get Start8 to work? I didn't see any help facility. Sorry, but this newbie isn't getting it. Is there something I need to set/unset with navigation properties?
Have you searched your PC for Start8 yet? Lets start there and once you find it, see if it's displayed on your taskbar.
I know. Not enough information. I search on start8 from my list of applications. It's there. When I launch it, it brings up the Stardock Start8 Configuation. On the left navigator there are selections for Style, Configure, Control, Desktop and About. But I see no action to actually save the configuration settings, no ok, no cancel, no actions. What's next?
Once you set the settings they change, no need to click a save button. Did you change the button to Default, Custom or Start8?
I had as default. When I change to Start8, I see the icon changing. When I click the icon it goes to a list of my applications with the "modern" look, not the Start8 look. I'm about to just uninstall and give up. I can probably live without this software, although I'm sure it has helped others.
It sounds like you have it set to windows 8 mode, not Windows 7 look, This is on the main page. Click on the left hand picture.
