[Question] How do I add/change sovereign points for custom characters?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone figured out how to add or change the default sovereign point value when creating a new champion.  Ideally, I'd like to increase

the base point value and I'd like all schools of magic to only cost one point, and if you were to pick a weakness they would award 2 sovereign points instead

of one.  I believe the excellent patchwork mod does this, but I'm no modder, and I haven't figured out how.  This might make my starting hero very powerful,

but I feel like the increase is appropriate considering the Legendary Heroes title.  Also, Patchwork isn't quite compatible with all the mods I'm currently

using.  If all I have to do is change some values in an .xml file, hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

In the core data/English folder look for ElementalDefs.xml, in there is this tag:

<SovereignCreationCustomizationPoints>6</SovereignCreationCustomizationPoints>

That should do it.  You should able to just put this tag in an xml file by itself in your mod folder if you don't want to change the core file.

 

To change the costs of the abilities and weakness, it's in CoreAbilities.xml, just search for the ability name it's quite straightforward.  If you don't want to edit teh core file again just copy the ability to a seperate xml file in your Mod folder and it should work fine.

Thank you so much abob!  The editing of the ElementalDefs.xml worked like a charm, however I tried putting in a standalone .xml file with just that one tag as you described, but it did nothing for me.  Thanks again, and yes I am playing Demons and Wizards :P

Hopefully my almighty Chosen One character won't be too much blasphemy.
