Elemental Universe timeline

Greetings!

We should probably add this to the FAQ but people have been asking how the various Elemental universe games relate to each other.

To recap:

2010: Elemental

2012: Fallen Enchantress

2013: Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

2015: Sorcerer King

All the games exist in the same world but at different times.

Elemental took place 100 years after the Cataclysm and dealt with the War of Magic.

Fallen Enchantress deals with the rise of Ceresa and her undead armies.

Sorcerer King takes place much later AFTER Ceresa's defeat and a much more powerful enemy coming in and destroying everyone.

In the BETA, you play as the son of Relias. You have the Forge of the Overlord which is where the crafting comes from.

Should Galactic Civilization be added to the timeline?

0: Catalysm

100: Elemental: War of Magic

Settling/populating the land after the catalysm,

100+: Fallen Enchantress

Someone wants to take over the world e.g. Ceresa

???: Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

Not sure, how this fits into the historic timeline.

Sometime after: Sorcerer King

A badass player has won, and is just a few steps away from world domination, godhood.

Far future: Galactic Civilization

The planet of Elemental, is one of the races of the Galactic Civilization-universe.

That's a pretty cool idea. The planet elemental in the Galactic Civilization universe.

Make it playable, please. :)

I think GalCiv actually takes place before Elemental, given that some of the old species in GalCiv essentially brought life to the planet.

No, they should be separate. Don't try to shoehorn them in!

Actually, I believe the race is Altar[ian] from the GalCiv3-webpage (https://www.galciv3.com/databanks/civilizations/altarian-republic)

Altarian Resistance

Altarians are a noble and ethical species. Outsiders consider them haughty because of the Altarian belief that their world played an important role in the Precursor wars. It doesn’t help that Altarians also flaunt their unique, native ability to manipulate cosmic energy.

Physically, Altarians look like humans – which caused a great deal of consternation when they first came into contact with Earth and the Terran Alliance. This commonality is the source of a great deal of mystery and legend, much of which revolves around the myth of a being of immense power (called a “Mithrilar”) that supposedly lived on Altaria at the dawn of life on that world. His presence altered the natural evolution which resulted in the evolution of the humanoid Altarian.

The rich and vivid history of Altaria far eclipses Earth’s own. The planet is a rich source of mysterious cosmic energy, which the Precursors spent thousands of years battling for control over. The Precursors eventually abandoned the planet, leaving the Altarians to build their own society.

Altaria was originally home to several different species. Multiple sentient species still exist today, but the first and oldest – the Drath – is now extinct on Altaria. Their tragic story is told elsewhere.

Altaria’s first contact with an alien species in the modern era was with Arcea. The Arceans transmitted plans to build a stargate and together, over a century, the Altarians constructed it and reaped the benefits of the resulting trade and commerce.

For reasons unknown, Altaria is uninhabitable for other species over long periods of time, even if they stay in environment suits. As a result, Altaria has not been the target of invasion by other interstellar species.

I thought it was well known that the Elemental world was Altaria.  In old versions of War of Magic, there were Drath even.

What? No customizing your main hero?

But what if I hate Relias and his kin? What if I don't want to play an altarian? What if I hate the main heros apperance?

From what they said in the last dev stream, each sovereign will have a different starting hero. Expansions could feature other factions!

I believe that Altarian as the survivor is one scenario Brad has chosen. However it could be a feature to customize the Altarian race in GC3 to the one you think should have survived the wars.

After all we are default playing as Altar, and it should be noticed that GC3 takes place many years after Sorcerer King, so Altar has all possibilities of winning the war against the Sorcerer King and unite the races/nations/people under a single banner into a more homogeneous race with magical powers.
