Mac osx ultimate skin

Small change

Hi,

Like in title, i wonder if there is any chance to make small change in this skin. This skin is really good and working on it is nothing but pleasure but apple logo on start button is really annoying. If anyone know how to erase that small thing from this skin please let me know or just do it for me and future generations :)

Mac OSX is Apple.

I know that this is apple but in this case this is just skin for windows so I dont think that this is any problem to remove the apple logo :). Of course I need it for personal use only. So lets wait for someone who knows how to do that. Thanks for quick respond.

The best route to take when wanting a skin modified and you are unable to do so yourself is to PM the creator of the work.

In this case I suggest a PM to josh36. https://www.wincustomize.com/users/4817893/josh36

Another suggestion would be to hide the taskbar and use something like ObjectDock. ;)

Send him a pm where to find the start menu section in SKS 7/8.  Because i don`t think wooytek has bad intentions.

But if he isn`t able to design a logo himself or can`t use at least Skin studio and gimp/photoshop/PSP(3.11/6/7/8) he really has to ask the originial theme author. And schould also accept if the original theme  author does not help him.

I do myself make windows an mac like themes for linux and i have to say THAT I  WOULDNT  PROVIDE SUCH UPDATES  IN THIS CASE CAUSE OF MISSING TIME and other reasons. But i do strongly suggest to you to try to contact the original authors. Theme/blinds  authors are humans and do understands problems from others  often.

Another tip: Try to isolate your problem from other side stories  and ask the main question without revealing your true intentions directly if you don`t receive helpful answers . Sounds strange but helps a lot. It is the only way to get informations sometimes. On other forums or for other oses you do/schould  ask that way everytime.  Also try to devide your solutions into several little steps.

My Last advice in this answer: Read exactly the license files or try to see how the licenses are and do directly write and do that you won`t edit a blind from a third persons and edit it for other than  personal use only  and not uploading on the net.

Licenses are always a critical point you know.

P.S. Note to site guys, link creation isn't working. (Win7/IE11)

I think I covered that, Andy.

you are unable to do so yourself

To the OP, there are many skinners here that I am sure can walk you though changing out the start button graphics in SKS. I recommend future Master Skinner neone6. ;) As he pointed out though, any such mod is strictly for your own personal use.

You can edit the button in SkinStudio as the image below shows.  If you are using Windows 8, you can also use Start8 to replace a button.
