Diplomacy status

We’re getting pretty close to Beta 2 for GalCiv III. This one is the diplomacy beta series.  Part of the challenge is having UIs that can handle potentially hundreds of players.  In this screen, Kael has made his own custom players using Star Control players but players will be able to make whatever they’d like.

"Aaargh, call The Doctor. The Cybermen, Daleks and Weeping Angels have arrived".

"Which doctor?"

"Not a witch doctor, Doctor Who".

"Doctor who?"

"Yes."

"Doctor Jess?"

<Zapp> Daleks kill diplomats. Doctor Who never gets called. Daleks conquer the galaxy.

This is the point where I planned to consider the game in beta.

Thank you brad and team! This is the best part of strategy gaming, when all your work charisma and might translate into "deal or no deal" intimidation and persuasion, or have them call your bluff. Glorious.

Do you have a date in mind and can I play a MP game against you or with you?!?!

DARCA ;)

Yeah, same here. From Beta 2 I will start playing alot more. I'm just soooo excited, that I just can't hide it.

I want to say that the only game I found had better diplomacy was medieval total war. One thing I didn't like though was how the game was willing to trade it's good stuff away.

My answer concerning "The Doctor":

"You know that, i know that"

"How do you know dad?"

"you just told me so"

"I don't know any Meso"

"Tartaric Acid isomer is one"

"How did we get to wine?"

"I don't know about you, but i don't whine".

Yay!

The game needs diplomacy or it's just a husk of its potential.

I like what they did in galactic civilizations diplomatically except the air would trade things away they shouldn't. Like they would trade away the high class planets. The capitals. Their home planet's. Resources their flagships their mining ships. This would annoy me about playing such a stupid ai. Medieval had better interaction. I'm saying to make it better. Otherwise the diplomacy is good.

Finally! Now things get really interesting!

BTW, can we add our own images for user created races? That would be amazing!
