Currently the game is still in beta and not officially released. Hence no mod section has been set aside yet.

But like said the game is still in Beta. After the game is released I see MODs being created.

Yeah in all seriousness, GC3 is in beta and doesn't have a mod section, while Rimworld is in alpha and has mods abounding.  Of which I am responsible for Space and Prison Meals!, Lantern and Tougher Pawns.  *takes a bow*

How's the shipbuilding in the game? Will there be any need to pester Kryo to make another one of his great shipbuilding mods? That was a must have for me in GalCiv2. It was about the only mod I used actually. That and Formis's excellent alien animations.

The ship builder is awesome and they have promised tons of parts.  So far I have built over one hundred ships.  While keeping the same basic style every ship is easily unique.

Actually, since you mention it, there is something in GC3 which is a little bit like KHSM - you can offset various parts on the X Y Z axes, meaning that you don't need to use extender parts to get the look that you want.  That right there is a massive improvement.

What does Stardock staff suggest regarding modding of GalCiv3? To wait for a newer version as many files may change and break mods?

Will break mods, for sure, since the only way to mod stuff currently (apart from music files and things) is the install folder.

The game is still in Beta so a lot of things will change before it's finally ready. So it's not a good idea to do any modding right now.

Please, open a modding section; as soon as people starts to release mods it will become a mess and very hard to find the stuff or talk about the subject. This game has a strong modding potential that needs a home.
