Scorpion - New TV Show on CBS

We were watching the season premiere of the The Big Bang Theory and I saw the promos for a new show Scorpion, which would come on after.  It didn't look too bad so I decided to watch and see if it was any good.

I liked the overall concept.  I mean, a group of genius hackers -- what's not to like?

Yes, the first mission was a bit "over the top", but it's a TV show so what else do you expect.  I'm also not too sure about the casting they did for the roles, but the main character seemed a better fit at the end of the show.

I did enjoy it though, and I'll watch a few more to see how it goes.  Did anyone else watch it?

You can view the first episode here.

Same here.   As a software engineer myself, it looked interesting.

Different twist then many of the shows. I'm going to watch it again for sure. (if I remember)

Now we have a nice looking girl added in. Always need one of those.

interesting twists...

The interaction with the kid was the only good part, I think. The conversations with the crew were just poorly written, and how ridiculous was the last scene? Also, because it's an american show, I predict the beautiful but struggling single mother will develop into the main character's love interest in 3...2...1...

13/10 GOTY

I usually give a new program 20 minutes to catch my attention. This show got me in 5. I love mindless entertainment, especially with what is going on in our world.

Anyone seen "Madam Secretary"? NOT BAD!

Yes I saw Madam Secretary, I liked it.

yeah...

promising idea... but the writing was sooo corny was laughable... and the delivery.... well...

The main character probably has a greater IQ than the sum total of the show's targeted audience.

Mindless drivel.

Dead giveaway? ....6.30 PM timeslot on a Sunday.

And to think I paused season 6 of SOA ......;p

^^^ Agreed Jafo.  Although it was SUITS not SOA that was paused over here!  ;)

Oh and since it was mentioned in this thread, two shows (while not in exactly the same vein as 'Madame Secretary') whose production value, writing and acting I find far superior would of course be House of Cards, and the quirky but also superbly written/acted (imo) Covert Affairs.

Yes....that was an odd one....had the potential to be corny and crap....but some how got it right instead....;)

The premise of each episode is just ludicrous to almost be sci fi. It's almost like a light Fringe. Strangely, I find myself anticipating the next episode...

I enjoyed the second episode.  They are making a stretch in the missions, but it's just been fun to watch for me.

The show, so far, is rather mediocre, even trite at times.  Seeing the X-files alumni actor playing a spy stuck handling /babysitting / the scorpions adds to my not really suspending disbelief as I watch.  Weird, because, in-spite of all this, I am looking forward to the next episode.  Scorpions is tapping something, just not sure what.  keep the cameras roiling.

The episode last night was one of my favorites so far.  Had a good mix of action, teamwork, and investigation.

My wife and I saw it for the first time last night, largely due to nothing else being on and we had already gone through most of our DVRed stuff.

I made the comment early that I love overacting as if it were a "B movie".  It grew on us though and we enjoyed it by the time it was over.  I especially liked the parallel thinking involved, even if it was rather grade school type stuff.

I think we might watch it again if the opposing reruns of Big Bang Theory don't look good.
