facebook new to

Just set up my face-book page, because its required for a virtual seminar series I'm participating in. The teacher stated that he has sent invites to private facepages that are designed as a venue for classmates to share, network, etc.  I cannot figure out how to accept the request and get on board.  I've read the docs at ehow, and watched a vid on face-book... nada help. Any tips that will help me cut thru the malarky?
