I wasn't blaming just asking.  I thought I had the requirements needed to run the game.  but, it would have been nice to have been notified that the file hadn't completed the download.

No blame taken :) I understood, I just wanted to show that we have tried to let everybody know the big requirement here is 64 bit only. I do hope you are able to upgrade your OS so that you can play soon  B)

I think the issue might be people might not know that their version of XP isn't 64-bit

XP isn't the only Windows version with a 32 bit mode. Vista and Windows 7 has them as well, I'm not sure about 8. And the OP did mention that he/she was using Windows 7.

You can get Windows 8 with 32 bit, but when you purchase this OS it will usually come with a 64 bit copy as well. In fact, most copies of windows usually comes with 32 and a 64 bit copy of it. (I know my last two purchases of windows OS's, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 came with both a 32 bit and 64 bit OS)

Vista didn't, you had to send away to Microsoft in order to get it. Windows 7 however had both. The issue for some people though is that they may have had the OS installed by the manufacturer and don't have the disks in order to make the change to 64 bit.

this was my problem,

Well for future reference, if you buy a new computer with an OS installed insist on having the discs for it as well. If they won't do that for you, then don't buy the machine. There could be a number of reasons why you might need to reinstall your OS, like getting hit with a virus for instance, and you'll be SOL if you don't have the discs. It's a scam that some businesses try to pull on people, forcing them to come back in the event of any problems and then paying an extra service fee.

i could use some devs help with getting my galciv 3 and sword of stars 2 to run.

galciv3 opens to a black screen and then crashes.

swos2 opens the option screen and then the kerbos logo screen.  it has not asked for the serial number.

I can try to assist with the former but that latter, you will have to contact the maker of the game.
