A minute 30 seconds isn't all that bad bododog. I have several apps that load on boot and I get 1 minute 30 second boot times. I also run Avast on startup, Windowblinds, Objectdock and Iconpackager. Did you run CCleaner to take out any unnecessary files or a defrag app? There's also a Junk Removal Tool that can eliminate files no longer used  http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/junkware_removal_tool.html

As for the black screen I have no clue. For the screenshots you'll need a file hosting site like Photobucket. Simply sign up, its free, click on the upload button. Then go to where you have the screenshot and click on that. It will upload automatically to your folder on the site. Then click on view uploads. Mouse over your screenshot and a dropdown appears. Click on where it says shared links. A white box will come up. Click on direct link. It will say copy. Then come here to the forums and click on the green tree. Right click in the blank field then click insert. Your screenshot will show in the reply.  http://www.photobucket.com

Thanks Uvah for the help got it awesome!! My boot times used to be around 35sec's I have not ever changed anything at  all it just started loading real slow about 1 month ago . I have done both I have both tools!

Avast will definitely slow your PC. Also likely causing the "WindowBlinds core serv. and Windows FX serv the apps them selves are not loading on startup" .

But there are Avast lovers who will challenge that statement.

Thanks REDNECK DUDE I like Avast too but it does have some problems I've been with Avast 4Yrs now and I do see problems now and then but I had it when I was getting 35sec. boot times so it 's changed that much in a month!

As you can see I have managed to bring it down a bit but this is all that loads at the time!

bodadog, relax...your System load times show variability but aren't excessively long.

You could be doing other things during boot up, like making me a cup of coffee. But have you offered? NO!   #:(

I shall have my revenge.

You've already had too much of a good thing [your long hours here are testament to caffeine saturation] so go get yourself a [healthier] drink of water.

Yeah, I know, you will have your revenge.... as will I if you do. }:)

EDIT:  As for the boot confusion, place said boots on floor> ensure instep curvatures are in the middle> place feet in said boots as left and right boots will thus be on the correct feet.

Hehe. :-"

What, no boots?

Okay, then, what do yer tuck yer pants into when yer don't want 'em flapping around in the breeze?

My dear old grandfather, bless him, used to use bicycle clips.

Hehe, so you're one of those [strange] people I keep reading about in 'Florida Friday' on Majorgeeks dot com... LOL :-"

So glad I don't live in FLA, tho... nudity have's an adverse affect on m' heart rate....

Old female nudity: Um, I hope she doesn't decide to chase me, and my heart rate goes up in anticipation of the run...

Young female nudity: Um, I have no hope of catching her, and my heart rate goes way down with my deflated ego.

Young male nudity:  Um, I'm freakin' jealous cos I used to look that good, and my heart rate sinks a bit more cos those were the days.

Olde male nudity: UM, it's like looking in the mirror at all things saggy, and my heart rate ebbs 'til all my extremities feel numb/without blood supply... cos that's all I got to look forward to  Even Viagra doesn't help that much.  For example, it only gets the wrinkles out of one part of my anatomy, and it does nothing for my sagging chest, which in recent years has become my waistline.

Can't freakin' win!  I need to carry uppers and downers with me just in case I encounter any of the above while out... definitely uppers if there a mirror while in the bathroom.  Two tricks I've learnt in my old age: remain fully dressed while shaving; turn on the hot water and steam up the mirror before getting undressed to shower/bathe.

 :-" :w00t:

Still, I can't complain!  I still have a sense of humour, and it all feels so much better when I can laugh at myself.

No wuckin' furries.... I've not taken leave of my senses.

Besides, it'd be too long a flight/voyage for my liking.... if I can't be there yesterday then it's too long a trip for me.

Do you have external drives hooked to your PC?
Also what is the free space on your master drive C: ?

ON HDD
sometimes a long overdue defrag can help aswell.

OK how much RAM do you have this may be the problem because the 64bit version needs a little more than the 32bit as far as i know.
