Armada / Formation Movement

It would be nice to have some form of armada / fleet formation movement.  For example, if have six ships/fleets arranged in a circle (e.g., all six hexes surrounding a center hex), it would be nice to select all six ships in their formation and instruct them to move to a new location.  This would be preferable over command each ship individually.

One could select the formation by using normal drag and select mouse commands.

This capability could be unlocked during age of ascension as part of a logistics branch of the tech tree.

i.e. what we need is a deeper hierarchical organization of ships, where we already have:

  • tier 0: ship
  • tier 1: fleet of ships (limited by Logistics)

and we want:

  • tier 2: flotilla of fleets (limited by Developers) :)
  • tier 3: galaxas of flotillas
  • tier 4: haderachs of galaxas

inexorably approaching:

  • tier n: shelvings of galcivs

That's what "Ascension" means, btw ... up one level of the hierarchy!
