Texture help

Hello everyone, I'm new to XSI and creating 3D Models, I'm trying to make a texture for a ship I made, it's supposed to be an Advent ship, the "God ship" if you will, so it has to be full of glowing texture

 

I am not really sure how to create individually nm/cl/da texture, so can anyone help please? I need a bit of explaining on each and every one of them and how to create them and which is the best program to do it (Photoshop, paint.net, etc..)

The cl texture is just the general texture of how the ship looks, with the alpha channel being the team color. Once you make this texture, making the rest isn't too hard.

The da texture is more complex and you can find out about it here.

For the normal map, most of the time you can use the Nvidia normal map plugins for Photoshop or GIMP. There's some slight extra instructions in the link above.
