Optimizing Game Play

I have been playing since the first alpha release and have notice as more and more things are being added to the game the more laggy the visuals become on my system, to the point where I am forced to play the game zoomed out using the icons to get a smooth game experience. I am hoping this is due to the update process and will be rectified later in the build process, through shoring up the code or something.

If this is not the case my system has the following specs if someone could clue me into what I need to do, from the range of wiping the HD clean to needing a new PC.

Toshiba Satellite P755

Intel Core i5-2430M CPU @2.40GHz

RAM 6.00 GB

Windows 7 - 64-bit operating system

Graphics Cards (1.) Intel HD Graphics Family) (2.) Nvidia GeForce GT 540M) [I have forced the computer to use the Nividia card at all times]

I have seen many posts about performance issues that involve there being an integrated HD graphics on the CPU in combination with another graphics card. Last I saw StarDock was talking to Intel about it.

Edit: The "quote" function is not working on this forum.

I'm having the same issue, and I've used the opt-in patch. The game is unplayable at high resolution, with the exception of keeping the camera completely zoomed out. I'm using a new Toshiba Satellite S55t with an i7 processor, 16gb RAM, and embedded Intel HD Graphics 4600.

When playing at high resolutions, any medium or large-sized map will present so many visuals that the game just locks up, and I have to restart it. There are not enough graphics options to turn all the pretty stuff off. I'm really hoping there will be in upcoming versions.
