Apology to dumdeedumdum 4v4 (Missile Barrage)

The game started with me not on the front-line (Yay!) So i quickly opened with a Akkan, captured 2 roads, volcano and a moon with colonisers+akkan and rushed for the neutrals near me. Within a couple of minutes i was number one eco in the game when the trade ports finished constructing accompanied by one culture post at my hw.

As games go, this was one of those game where it felt that me and dumdeed where fighting the rest and i was feeding a noob to oblivion who just couldn't do shit. What ended up happening is i was feeding one side and Dumdeed wasn't getting the full support from his neighbour..

The game ended badly because i kept telling the newcomer to escape a missile barrage, which he didn't and i ended up building (stupidly) corvettes instead of high armour kodaks/carriers to at least survive a missile barrage. What happened next was a stupid mis-click (yes the mighty mis-click) at the newcomers hw when i took my eye off the gravity and ended up running for my life from a missile barrage which took the lifes of my entire corvette fleet--50+.. His mars hit level 7 and dumdeed quit in rage.

Dumdeed-- ion bolt couldn't save me, i couldn't save me. I screwed up..

Shit happens..

<This is my fourth Missile Barrage incident and i have to say that ability is a game ender>

I don't see why anyone should build any other cap.

Which dumdeedumdum are you talking about? I have seen three separate ones in a lobby on numerous occasions (no joke). One wonders if it is Riddleking just smurfing again.

And lol dude corvettes actually are the number one weapon to killing a marza. You don't even need a radiance or akkan. Simply make fifteen or so vettes and attack the marza. He will be forced to activate MBA or run away since marza can't hit vettes for shit. If he does activate it, no big deal vettes are so fast you can get away with half health. Mop up with your other fleet.

I couldn't get away because Missile barrage has a range of 8000 and they all died! If you make the game have a fastest game speed option then i won't have time to get away from even a range of 4000 for missile barrage. Please rethink your post for fastest game speed .

Actually it should be easier on fastest speed since ships would move faster and thus be able to escape the ability...this ability is actually GROSSLY OP on normal speed, as there is no way you will ever get a fleet out of range in time...on faster speed, it's at least an option...

Personally I prefer LFs when dealing with Missile Barrage...they are still fast enough to stay out of range, but they are better than corvettes against structures and thus you can run your fleet and harass enemy planets pretty well...corvettes will die to MB too fast, I'd really only suggest going that route if you are TL since that will debuff the speed of the Marza...even then, you are basically suiciding the corvettes since the enemy fleet will mop them up...

Without having some ability to counter it, you pretty much have to run your fleet...attacking with half your fleet and keeping the other half in reserve is not viable unless fleet sizes are just massive or you have a vast advantage in numerical superiority...often in those cases, you would have just been better getting HCs or bombers (since presumably it's either later in the game or you have feed)...

Your only talking about movement speeds. If everybody is specific about fastest speed being movement speeds then theres no problem. I generalised the whole thing where abilities are executed even faster.

I'm not sure I'm following you...faster is a game speed you set, and it affects (among other things) the movement speed of ships...game speed does not in anyway affect ability durations, cooldowns, periodic action intervals, or even AM regen...

On faster game speed, your ships will move faster and thus have a better chance of escaping the ability (which is completely unaffected by game speed)...abilities aren't executed any faster or slower just because the game speed has been changed...

see, you guys missed the whole point - he's alluding to the 300 HC exploit he foolishly neglected using in a weak moment of clarity trying to compete on equal footing.

I hate to say it guys but if he had flak this would have never happened in the first place...
