This is not the place for this. I do believe all feedback is valid and needs to be looked at (even those of yet to be added features). We should keep things clean and debate the benefits drawbacks of the beta, not each other.

It looks like the next beta patch address some crash to desktop. Have you opted in the newest patch?

I have to admit that I am somewhat Steam-Illiterate.  The instructions say:

To get the opt-in patch, do the following:
Right-click Galactic Civilizations III in your Steam library
Open the Betas tab
In the drop-down menu, select “opt-in”
Steam should automatically update your game

Yet I get only as far as Right Clicking on GalCivIII.  No "Betas" tab shows up.  I've tried it both in "Desktop" as well as "Big Picture" mode.  I am still in 0.41, at least that is what the initial splash screen states.   No biggie, I can wait until the next required update comes along.

Speaking of illiterate I can't get the text/background colors correct.

The instructions need to be more clarified...

Right click on Gal Civ 3 and select properties from the context menu.

Then choose the Beta Tab

Then select opt-in to a beta. (if no selection available you may have to restart steam to see it)

Then steam should update the game (in not you might have to restart steam)

Dear Support,

I'm using the Beta version of GalCiv III and i see that there is a patch ready, but somehow i did not get it downloaded?
I've read that i should rightclick GalCiv III in Steam and the use the dropdown menu, but somehow this does not work here.

Who can help me with this problem?

Kind Regards,
Numan

Hint: perhaps its easy to use for example: beta v1.01 ; in the beginscreen so we can directly see if we are up to date.

There is no patch currently in the opt-in program. In the main menu in the lower right hand corner it should tell you what you need to know. Its should be at 0.42.

The updating of the patch is something that steam usually does for you, if you have it set to update your programs automatically. As Ryat said, the opt-in beta patch is no longer available.

Shaefespeare, I'm unable to create an economic star base.  I've gone quite a bit down the economic tech tree (interstellar banking) so I should be able to build multiple orbital economic structures, yet I'm unable to do so.  I can do mining, military, and cultural, though.  Any help would be appreciated.
