Founder's Edition Off Sale, Beta Coming Thursday

First off, a big thank-you to all our Founders for their assistance in Galactic Civilizations III's successful alpha program! The pages and pages of feedback, bug reports, ideas, and discussion have been invaluable to us.

With the beta's imminent launch, the Founders' program is no longer available.

The Galactic Civilizations III beta will be available for purchase very soon (Thursday August 14, if all goes according to plan) for $44.99, a five dollar discount off the game's regular $49.99 price.

If you've been waiting to play Galactic Civilizations III for less than $99, now's your chance.

So, is it a good thing or a bad thing that I bought my Founder's Elite Edition last night?

So, is it a good thing or a bad thing that I bought my Founder's Elite Edition last night?

that depends on what you want the founders elite comes with all dlc and expansions that will ever be made as well as the name a star and founders vault access

youve pretty much missed  the alpha

wheras the founders edition i believe just gets you 5$ off the base game

Good points...speaking of name a star, I found the option last night, didn't exercise the right to do so, now tonight I cannot find it. Sorry for the newbie question, but do you know where I should look for that option?

Thank you.

Doh! Why do game companies do this! They always release their stuff on top of each others. Arche Age beta is out on thursday as well, and now this... oh god... which to play... oh frack /headdesk I can see myself switching every hour between the two...

The Few, the Proud, the Elite Founders. One day, there will be few of us to many others, and we'll be able to mock all the kids you bought it later and lord our obvious superiority over them. We are the 1%!

No, it's not. And it won't be for the next 13 hours. Not that it matters. I doubt they'll release the beta before 3pm local time, which means 9pm over here. :(

Haha, you're right - it's Wednesday. As I said: I'm on vacation and lost my sense of time.  8C :-"

Damn - one more day!

It would be nice to see some patch notes. Damn, it almost feels like X-mas eve...

Yes, as a Founder, I'm looking forward to showing all the newbies the wonderful ideas I had for GalCiv3 that the fools never implemented...

And, lo, the people who purchased Galactic Civilizations 3 from this day forth shall weep and despair that my plans were never taken on board by Stardock and shall speaketh "But where, where, can we get such an incredible  game of which mrblondini foresaw and greater than that which Stardock hath given us?" and lo, such as are modders amongst us shall question as to how poor mrblondini's suggestions were and therefore not worthy of modding and so the weeping and despair shall continue.

But I was A Founder. And my name shall ring for ever more. Even if I did chose a stupid name for my Star....

Yep, can't wait till Thursday/Friday my time. Beta-beta-beta-beta-beta by far...

Good work, guys!

Name-a-star will be open for a while longer, but don't wait if too long if you need to submit or change your name. ;)

The team is really excited to get Beta 1 of Galactic Civilizations III out there.  The target date is one week away.

The Founder's Edition, which is what provided access to the Alpha builds along with a lifetime subscription to everything we make for Galactic Civilizations III (all expansions, DLC) will not be offered anymore once the beta comes out.

With the beta's imminent launch, the Founders' program is no longer available.

Not cool. Not cool at all. So I guess I've missed my chance then, just for 1 day. -_-

What's the point in saying you'll remove the founder's edition once the beta comes out, if you're going to remove it 2 days before it does?

I have to agree, I thought they'd have more of a warning.
