Dev Stream Tomorrow (Friday June 27) at Noon Pacific Time

http://www.twitch.tv/stardock

Happy day-after-Alpha-3-day!

Lead designer Paul Boyer will be streaming the latest patch for Galactic Civilizations III and answering your questions at the official Stardock Twitch channel tomorrow at 3pm Eastern Time (noon Pacific, 9pm CET). Come on by!

Bring your questions and feedback about Alpha 3 now that you've had a chance to play with it a little, and we'll try to answer them live on the stream. You can also leave them in the thread here and I'll do my best to get Paul to speak to them.

Remember, you can always catch up on our streams at the Stardock YouTube channel -- they're all archived there. This one should go up around 6pm ET Friday on the YouTube channel as well, provided nothing blows up.

Thanks as always for watching, and for your support of GalCiv III! We're getting there!

I've got some questions regarding weapons and weapon models:

Will the final game include race specific weapons?

Are there different weapon models planned for each race? Currently it seems all races use the terran weapon models.

I'm curious about rally points in regard to starports. I see the planets have a greyed out button for it and was wondering if that's how we will be setting our rally points for whatever starport that that particular planet is sponsoring? Seems like that's how you're going with them as opposed to the starports themselves having a rally point button. I also enjoy the streams but usually catch them on YouTube as twitch TV can be a bit... twitchy at times in how reliable the stream is. Keep up the good work gents, I see this one being another landmark for Stardock.

LAst week I tuned in and immediately got hammered with work calls.  Grrr,  So, I submit something in advance and hope I make it for answers.

In the ship builder, can I get a display only function?  I want a background and no UI so as to take screenshots.  I want a set of commands to make it do impressive fly by maneuvers, sometimes with weapons blazing.  I want a "fleet" option that fills the screen with multiple copies of the ship all moving together in unison.  I want a kaboom option that shows me what my newly designed ship looks like full screen and exploding.

Basically, I want a sandbox within a sandbox, somewhere to play with my newly designed toys and go "Oooooh".

Second, have we had any ideas/progress about the ship movement on the screen and the wiggle-waggle effect of moving in the one axis along the hex grid?  I remember it being a subject of some discussion.

We need a esaier way to get to the starport. And a click threw like the starbase to get to the next starport.

will we beable to import or ships built in Alpha 2 later on.

I would like a way to save a generated planet to use again because said Planet was cooler the rest of the generated

Planets.

I like the New Earth.I would also like to use my own too.

I have world maps of Earth, Jupiter,Saturn,Mars,Moon and Uranus I would like to use I could in Alpha 2 but I can`t

in Alpha 3 will Custom Planets be easier to do ??? If you want to hit on this later or via posy or PM to cover in more

detail Please do.Thank You.

The resources Please give us a printable list of what they do and how they show up on the map onces you are mining them.

I like the fact that starbase have mining added to them. dose this mean the mining we did in GalCiv 2 is out or weill we still

beable to mine the Asteroids?

When selecting and improvement can we Please add a shift + click or have that improvement stay selected to use more the

once.

I see the maps size were tweak and problemly will be more how many size maps will we have. I like the bigger maps.

in Alpha 2 a 25 Class Planet was the highes planet class Now I`m seeing 26. How often are we suppose to see a 26 class

Planet.

On a side note the game is taking longer to load now and is running slower then Alpha 2. this feels like a step backwards

but with every thing that was just added it really is not. Hence!,.. This is way it is still a Alpha. Thanks for the game and the hard work

you all are doing.

thanks for the weekly Streams

Nasty!

Q: Can you express visually how big the largest map size is compared to GalCiv II's immense size?

Will there be performance upgrades in the next release?

(Is anyone else getting low FPS? I'm on a 8GB quad-core i7 with 2GB graphics.)

I'm curious about the pathing graphic we currently have. Right now, when the ship moves, the path is constantly updated to show how far its' first turn will take it. I don't like it the way it currently is. I was hoping it would show during the current turn and while moving, that the path graphic wait until the turn is complete, or even the next turn, to then show how far the first move can be, i.e., the green part of the path indicator. I hope that makes sense how I wrote this... So the question is, will this ever change or is this the way you guys want it to be? Thanks.

Finally got to watch the stream. Was good and I liked the info you gave out. Thanks for asking my first question, too. though I am a little bummed that the 2nd question didn't make it, so how about a quick answer before you guys go away on vacation? And have a great week off! I'm jealous!!
