Galaxy Forge: A question

Frustrated about the lack of lack of planets

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I need help from anyone experienced with Galaxy Forge in SOASE: Rebellion.

A while ago I thought of an idea for a map in which 6 players would get a Titan of a specific faction, have 1 planet that didn't allow them to build an army (I intended for there only to be the Titans to fight with), and 1 star where the players would send their Titans for the showdown to end all showdowns.

So I finally got around to building the map, and had it all set up, but when I tried testing it there were WAY more planets than there should have been; another 14 planets had been dumped across the system, which would have messed up the map in relation to its purpose.

So my question is: Is there any way to have a map spawn with specifically what the editor wants it to? Or is this an automatic thing that is impossible to deal with?

Any help at all would be deeply appreciated.

I can honestly say in all my uses of Galaxy Forge, I have never had it spawn in "extra" worlds that I did not place.

Try uploading your map file for us to look at?  It's a simple text file... just open it, copy all the contents, then paste it up to pastebin.com and give us a link to the location pastebin puts it to.  Don't post the raw text here in a forum post... it'll be way too long.

Check your galaxy file in a text editor. You might have some random (planet) ring in there, which will generate a bunch of planets. If you can't figure out yourself what's wrong with it even that way, post the galaxy code on pastebin and someone will probably take look.

Are you sure you are actually using the GalaxyForge? Keep in mind Sins has two different map editors, the in game Map Designer, which is for random maps and is definitely not unusual to have what you describe happen, and Galaxy Forge, which is an external what you see is what you get editor.

If you're certain its Galaxy Forge, no that is not normal.  ;)

Ok, hopefully you guys will be able to make sense of this. Thanks for the feedback :)

This is not a galaxy forge created map. It is a random map, most likely made in the map designer as I said before. The reason you're getting extra things is right here.

useRandomGenerator TRUE

To use the true galaxy forge, go to your game install directory, then go to the "Galaxy Forge" folder, then "GalaxyForge.exe"

But how do you get to the proper Galaxy Forge file? This is the path to the one I was using:

Computer/Local Disk (C:)/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion/Galaxy Forge

That looks correct, however the galaxy forge should NEVER create a map like the one you just linked me. If it is, then you are doing something with it I did not think was possible.
