How do I make every race have the same tech tree?

I have the ultimate edition and I want every race to have the same exact tech tree. Just like before twilight of arnor. I tried APT and some other ones but none of them seem to do this. Are there any mods that do this? Or does anyone know how I can edit the files myself? I tried going to raceconfig and changing the techtree to minor race for all of them but it doesn't change anything. Deleting the race specific tech trees gives me blank tech trees in game...

Actually, that's the way to do it. I'm not certain as to why that didn't work, but it's likely that you either forgot to start a new game, or edited the wrong file (there are three RaceConfig.xml's, one for the base game, and one for each expansion). However, considering that you found the racial tech trees, the latter is less likely.

In any case, simply replacing the original tech tree with the minor one for each race is not enough. Each race has a set of starting techs, most of which aren't in the minor race tech tree. If you don't correct this, then some of the races will be unable to compete, because they don't have any factories, labs, and so on, at the start of the game. All you need to do is to replace the current starting techs for each race with the following:

<Tech>HyperDrive</Tech>
<Tech>FusionReactors</Tech>
<Tech>IndustrialRevolution</Tech>
<Tech>TraditionalResearch</Tech>

You mentioned Altarn's APT mod. I think this is the way to go.  It's a great mod and he has APT 1 which has as little changes as possible while still fixing bugs and optimizinf performance. APT 2, though, sounds like what you want. It standardizes the tech tree for each race so they are all similar. Here is a link and a copy paste info:

Also, it just occurred to me, if you want everyone to have the exact same tech tree I think you can create a bunch of different custom races from a single race of your choice.  Give them all different names and pictures and they would be the same under the hood.

I've been using APT 2 and really enjoying it.
