Patch Tuesday 59 Patches for IE…It has to be a world record.

Strange - I only have one optional update available.

Good to know MS are so hard at work.

I had 10 total updates which included one optional one, Windows 7 64 bit.  Have not found or seen any problems.

They seem to do 'rolling' update rollouts, which stands to reason.

Note - 59 vulnerabilities patched does not necessarily mean there are 59 separate updates. Also, the number of updates depends upon what OS you are using and what browser version.

!4 for me + 2 optionals I never take.... Bing Bar and Bing Desktop as I have neither need or want for either.

7 here, win7 - 64bit, took less than 2 minutes.

Damned patches... well one of them at least.

Downloaded and installed them; rebooted as requested; shutdown once I'd ascertained it'd start and went out to do stuff.

Did stuff and came home; put stuff away and tried to boot PC.... PC booted, black screen... fechen updates.

Restarted in Safe Mode; removed updates, PC restarted with intact desktop.... fechen updates.

9 updates here. The optional ones I leave alone. Don't need no 'bing'. Lol

The right answer is 42.

While the answer is always 42...9 for me plus a driver update. Thanx, MS.

I've not been able to find any info on which patch is responsible for my black screen so I may have to install each of them individually until I reproduce the problem... unless somebody here knows which one so I may exclude it from the next installation.

Are you running WB's 8.05? It has an update for that issue with optional May KB2955164 update. See THIS thread

Looks like I was wrong. I had 7 updates to install. After install I had to network access. So I had to uninstall all of them. These were from May as well. Noit sure what went wrong.

Thanks for the reminder, Wiz.  I had forgotten all about that 'til you mentioned it.

But what can you expect, I'm 3 years older than you? 

Hehe, this is what you have to look forward to... CRAFT Disease [Can't Remember a Fechen Thing]; being absent minded when you least expect/need it; 2 or 3 trips to the toilet to pee every night; daipers for just in case; shrinking appendages while belly enlarges; failing eyesight cos you can't see your appendage anymore.... tape and couple of lollipop sticks cos you can't afford Viagra.

Anyway, thanks to your timely reminder, I was able to solve the problem without fuss.  My ODNT sub is expired 'til next week, when I can hopefully renew it, but I think I must have considered the issue previously because I found I had a copy of WB 8.05 in my Stardock download folder.

As for my 'shaky' memory, I've had quite a bit on my mind lately - kids and grandkids, etc - so I've not exactly been thinking about PC/skinning matters of late.
