Help with graphic design

As some here may know, I help repair computers. I offer my services on Craigslist. I am no good at Photoshop, and so I was curious if anyone would help me design a graphic that is flashy and professional while at the same time explains what services I offer.

And yes, I get it. Don't ask for help here. Do it yourself. Never mind that I asked.

I think you are once again confusing 'asking for help' with 'asking for a handout'.   Some of the individuals here (as previously stated) are in the profession of which you are asking a handout.

With the tools and tutorial suggestions linked by others in this thread, you (anyone) shouldn't have any issues making a simple advert such as you say you require.  Those who are actually in the design profession (who by their own admission are grateful their skills 'pay the bills') shouldn't be made out like they 'don't want to help you' just because they might want to use their skillset to pay their bills

You ask for help on these forums with fair regularity.  You are also provided help via these forums with that same regularity and with many community members going above and beyond 'fair expectations' in order to provide that help so your statement "Don't ask for help here" is just patently false.

No I don't. I have only asked for help in all of the time I have been here maybe 4 or 5 times. It's OK, I'll stick to my text based ad, no worries. :)

Quoting Timmaigh, reply 17So what exactly needs to be done? If its just to write some text in photoshop, akin to that Edgy Bob picture, i may be willing to help with that. Need more info though.

Yes, that's all I need.

If i say i am willing to help, why would it mean dont ask for help?

PM me the details - the resolution of the picture, file format, the exact text you need there, and i will look into it maybe tomorrow or over the weekend... i make no promises, since i am not graphics designer by profession, but ffs, writing down some things in photoshop so it does not look shit should not be that hard.

Quoting DrJBHL, reply 12How are people supposed to contact him to make an appointment, Jim? Smoke signal???

OK on CL, Doc. Just not here, or Facebook, etc.

You just don't go around leaving your personal info all over the internet.

Wrong. Look at any business card. It has all the info I wrote about above. Please. Don't argue. I sat for hours and learned the right way to do them.

I learned them from Lesa Snider. Here's a tutorial on EXACTLY how to do them:

Doc, I'm not gonna argue, but a business card is not the internet. I'm done here, hell, I don't care anyway.

Terry, I would be happy to help in any way I can.  I have a current Shutterstock account that ends in 30 days  and help you design a professional looking piece that can be used for business cards, adverts or whatever free of charge.   Some images that are supposedly "free" on the net, actually are not, so you have to b really careful if you go that route.

I designed the layouts for the themes for Skinartistry and for my own website.

you're absolutely correct. just imagine a potential employer googling the name and finding all those posts about health status, financial problems, private life and the rest here on this public forum. or an insurance company. or a bank.

it sure ain't going to help. ;)

(such stuff would be much safer on Facebook)

moshi...you're wrong, but what's the point of arguing? Either you understand or you don't.

kona:

I found a cheap deal for you for business card templates and backgrounds ($18):

nobody is is saying he shouldn't put his name and address on Craislist, or on a business card (does he actually want a business card?)

but posting it right here where it is just two clicks away from all his other posts wont win him a Nobel Prize.

keep posting your privacy related articles.

An ad can function exactly as a business card...in fact, one can be the mini of the other, or just use an off centered logo, etc.

He should have a page (fb) for his business, a business phone, business email, etc. Clearly (from my other posts) separate from his personal ones.

This is painfully obvious.

Keep on trolling.

and this is exactly why several people told him to not post his real name and address on this forum and rather pass this info via PM.

Everyone needs to just let it go now.

People have offered to help, and others have shown how easy it can be done for free with a little effort.

And no, I do not recommend plastering all your personal info on the forums regardless of where you can find it otherwise.
