Looks great!   I like original designs even more than brilliant replications.  Makes me want to see it with accompanying fighters for a sense of scale and awesomeness.  It increases my desire to have a feature in the Ship Designer that does display of things like weapons fire.  With sound effects.

Here is another one of my original shipyard designs. This is the UFP Wishbone CVB-45. This is my first large scale Battleship made with Alpha 3 shipyard. She is well armed and well defended. Looking forward to seeing how she does in battle. I really love how this one turned out!

Parrott, I don't understand why your redesigning base core ships that came with the game. Your basically just making ship that are already in the game. The ship designer is so much more than that. Why not create you own custom ships and leave the base core ships alone. You not ship building ship your just redoing ships already in the game. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to remake ships you already get in the game.

I'm using the names and equipment from the base ships and the names from the game. I started each of these designs from scratch and built them the moment I've got the tech to make these ships. They are duplicates / redesigns because the equipment choices are limited at the current stage of my game. As I play the game, I'm going to develop different ships and use these designs as things progress. I'll even add a few more other designs, but we have to start somewhere.

e.g. Any ship you build that uses tiny hull and two cannons would be a remake of the guardian, as there is no other functional difference.

I'm in the process of making other equipment options on these small ships, but the combinations are limited at the moment. Really haven't researched that much for the ships yet in my game.

I guess i should have clarified the fact that these were original designs using the parts from the ship editor, not the actual base ships themselves. When I added the equipment, I matched up what was there given the limited number of options at the moment.

I know this is not a ship design, but here is a particular fun ship component... it is a piston using only the rotational animations. Now we can have some fun space pistons... Thought I'd show off some of the capabilities of this editor for all to see.

 Edit: I love the export feature... it makes creating this part for other ships a WHOLE lot easier. I think now that I have this piece I can create a space train

I attempted to design an EVE Online NYX class today. However given the limited ship parts we have in the Alpha right now it can't be done yet. I have requested more ship parts be added and Paul Boyer said there will be much more additional ship parts added until it goes gold. There is also a request to have shipyard parts from GCII TOA ported over if it can be done. Right now there just isn't enough ship parts make a decent resemblance of an NYX Class ship from EVE Online. As we get new ship parts with updates I will try again.

So here is my latest... took me a while because I kept breaking the game

I used quite a few components.

I named it the S-6 Warhawk. It's a medium ship built mid-game, and so it's only moderately equipped. But basically, I wanted a balance of speed, range, and sensors with moderate defense in all three categories and beams/mass drivers.

I'm pretty pleased with the overall profile and level of detail--I love how detailed we can build the ships in the designer!

I was thinking of trying this very thing--and so when I saw this I was pretty excited. Now that I know it can be done, I'll definitely have to incorporate it into a future design.

I love it!  It reminds of a Stargate SG-1 F-302 but on steroids.

I love the side view of this ship. It is a very unique ship and I like the 'outboard' pods.

Cool ships Grath!

Here are some new ships I designed. I decided this design style will be my Civilizations (Terran) signature ships. Being it an original design and unique.

This is the Crossbone, she is a dreadnought destroyer and one TOUGH Lady. I have played this ship on the map against AI. AI ambushed her with 6 fleets of smaller ships. She took out four fleets before she bought the farm. Imagine what a fleet of this ship could do.

This is the Tornado, she is my first "HUGE" large scale Super Dreadnought. I have yet to play her on game map but she is very well armed and defended.

Okay, this is what happens when your wife stays overnight at a friend's house and you have nothing to do...

I spent a little less than an hour and two Coronas and this is what I ended up with:

I think the Coronas went to your head to fast. Those ships are quite humorous. I love the second one in the video, it had me cracking up! Too funny!
