Couple Bugs

Ran into two bugs, wasn't sure where to post them.

I apparently can't attack survey ships? I was able to destroy other ships that had weapons, but survey ships, at least in single player, my own ships refused to attack. I was using Lost Defenders - are there hidden restrictions on what those can attack?

Attempted to combine a stack of three Lost Defenders into a fleet before researching advanced fleet logistics techs - game froze, then CTD.

Game says I'm using outdated video drivers - don't see how this could cause these bugs, but I'll update them in the morning.
