Modifying skin to my liking but having problems

Hello,

I'm trying to modify METAL TECH which I like very much but it seems that the frame boarders are too wide for me, I've viewed some How To's but there's not really much out there to learn with Skin Studio except for hands on.

Pointers on how to thin down the side boarders? As I said Im totally new to Skin Studios but would like to learn as much as possible so I could create my own skins in time.

 

Any help I'd appreciate it! Thanks

Pointers really aren't going to help with this. All of the critical work is simply artwork, and re-cutting of the frames, which really has nothing to do with skin studio.

So , what I am saying is, you really need no help with that portion, maybe with where to find things in sks and such after the fact.

The Metal Tech skin is not going to be easy for you to start out with.The artist, incorporated shadows with the frames and the frames tie to the top areas of the skin, making any changes very difficult, even for an experienced skinner.

 

My advice, start a new skin,reworking Metal Tech would mess the skin up. imo!

 

Help is always here in the forums, just ask, also some of us will help via pm" at times.

As far as frames, if you want to try still, you are welcome to pick my brain, here or pm.

There are two sets of frames in a skin, per pixel and uis frames, I recommend doing both, but each are cut differently.

I could make some templates or images for you and send to you, when and if you like, to help you .

Thanks for the warm welcome! and for the input! yep my spelling is bad, it happens at times. Even tho spell check doesn't help |-)

I'll see what I can edit and what I cant, Only found 2 issues with this skin other wise its AWESOME! KUDOS to the Author! if I didn't happen to say it before!

I need to work on the BORDERS  *_*  and the task bar when I open programs it all of sudden combined the task bar buttons and added titles, which I never had before, and the buttons are stretched longer than they should be which less buttons can fit on it.

Don't get me wrong this is a great looking skin, but everything needs tweaked once in while to be improved upon or for ones flavor.

 

Time for some tests of trial and error!
