Scroll bars sometimes stick to mouse pointer.

Sometimes when I grab a scroll bar to drag it to where I want it, the scroll bar will stick to the mouse pointer when I release the mouse button and not remain where I wanted to leave it.

Maybe, but on my PC I don't think so. The game still hasn't used more than a third of the power available to it, and the turns are lightning fast.

Sorry, but I don't find this answer acceptable. I see this as a bug. It should not happen.

Nukar, after further thought I realize I owe you an apology. My response was curt and abrupt. I should not have responded as I did. I know you are only trying to help and I appreciate it.

However, perhaps I should explain my credentials. I have spent 28 years in the programming industry (I have been retired for the last 14 years). I have spent much of that time convincing others that abhorrent behavior of programs are bugs. I have often done this by tracking down in the code exactly where the problem lies and showing how to fix it. I am confident that, given time and access, I can find the answer to any abnormal behavior any program exhibits.

I have done this in spite of being told that "that's just the way it is", or "it's always done that", and in the process have discovered that many people get convinced by others that some abnormal code behavior just can't be changed (or even convinced themselves of it).

So, as you can see, my refusal of your explanation of the possible cause of the problem I described when I opened this thread is based on experience and I do not intend it as any reflection on you,

BTW, I have opened a ticket for this problem with StarDock.

I have finally figured out how to reproduce it at will when manipulating the scroll bar for the planet list, the ships list, and the planet view "available projects" list. Each of these lists exist right next to the right edge of the game window. If you grab the scroll bar and slide it up or down, allow your mouse to stray outside the window, then release the mouse button, the scroll bar becomes locked to the mouse pointer. If you should stray off the window and back over the game window before releasing the mouse button the scroll bar works fine -- it does not get locked to the mouse pointer.

EDIT: I have to get my starbase list big enough to scroll before I can verify whether it fails on that list. I have also verified that it acts the same for the manufacturing queue.

EDIT2: My starbase list is now big enough to test for this. As expected it fails here as well.
