Internet Trolls.

Steam.

I may curse a bit. O:)  and no matter how much it might seem the opposite, I respect other people freedom of speech, I just disagree with there views.

WTF is happening!!! Just WTF is happening!!! I have been with steam for a week and some quirky shit happens occasionally, like friend request not going though or my connection sometimes isn't recognized. But that's all understandable to a extent, since there are millions users and errs are common.

I have seen A few locked posts here bitching about the $99 price and not listening to logic. That that's odd considering a sixteen year old I know worked for the money in a week, and understood this is cheap considering all game content is included.

So today I went on the Galciv3 Steam forums for the first time to see what all the gripe was about, I heard it was bad so went to see how bad the trolls were.

HOCKY SHIT!!!! The amount of ignorance, short sightedness, hypocrrisy of fake "die-hard fanness", and trolling was astonishing. Even when Brad tried talking logically to them, there troll brains could not understand his reasonable words. Some were worse than trolls. They were ZOMBIE TROLLS, some tried to even virtually bite Brad! Luckily he escaped without harm.:waaaa: Steam has been good for me so far, not counting how much personal info they briskly hand out, but the people are awful, I hate how the thing said are forever, and is going around the web now because of steam, when this has been out for months!!! The people there are nothing but unappreciative dollar game buying waste of space. I hope they get better.

I have followed these forums for months like allot of people here and we know the score, and what SD makes. But these, and I will use part of a quote here:

"Random, racist, self entitled, narcissistic, crusading, ignorance, illogical, fucktards seem to fill so many boards!!!!! The mainstream fools will spam our forums. Is there a way to only let founders comment on the Alpha feedback section? I don't think the beta access deserves a forum badge either if a downpour of internet hating assholes will fuck up the lovely gamer developer relationship that exists. I don't like that people with nothing better to do but spread lies around the internet about the alpha if they played it or not, and are writing articles like the one by escapist magazine that was published before the alpha was even out, and claimed to have played it for hours!! WHHHATT THAAA FUUUUCK!! The time machine must have been up there asses because I sure as hell didn't see it.

I just don't like how Stardock is being portrayed as "corrupt" and "thieves" and are probably getting hate mail. >:(

Have a Sovereign Fate SD

Wipe them out

The same thing happened to Planetary Annihilation... braces yourselves, the steam hate will get worse. I like stardock and have experienced the validity of this pricing mechanism.

The caveat is the game needs to get really good that way the naysaying trolls lose desire to fight a good game. But in reality is see little chance that this game will fail.

Stardock did good by SoASE they will do good by this

Many do not think and need to complain so they feel there life has meaning other than Family

Remember the immortal words of Ron White.

You can't fix stupid!

The world is full of stupid people, all you can do is ignore them....and the price is fair to get all the DLCs included.

Game plus 2 DLCs (minimum knowing Brad) = 90 dollars so.....

100 to get early content, possibility of MORE DLCs make this at worst an even deal, and likely a discount.

As one of the people who received Fallen Enchantress for free because we joined the Elemental family early, Brad protects those loyal, and pays for his mistakes.

This makes 100 dollars a Good Investment.

Still....You can't fix stupid.

^^ I totally agree...the $99 is a good price for myself considering I would buy all the content on release anyway (by the way it seems currently 4 expansions are planned with 6 minor DLC's the first year and 4 per year subsequently as long as there is interest according to info posted on the steam forums).

I stand by the fact it probably wasn't the best idea to release an early access version on steam until the beta, you get a vocal minority of people raging on steam who probably had little interest in the game to begin with but were just drawn to the price on the front page. Keep it to the site and you can still get steam keys and get a lot less of the anger from passing traffic who glance the price on steam.

Wipe them out

All of them

Burn the Heretic, Kill the Mutant, Purge the Unclean, Obliterate the Trolls!

Some people would complain about the GalCivIII alpha even if it was totally free. Those who want to complain, will always find a reason. But hey, I read once, not long ago, that we should encourage them to troll online because the time they spend trolling online, they are not hurting people in the real world. *shrug*

That still counts!!! And you can fix stupid. You just need alot of time and patience. I don't have the time sadly, but its possible.

I wish there were laws against being stupid. Or why can't the NSA track and find trolls and bullies, they've done everything else with our data.

I hear a 2x4 with nails through it can work as well...

I posted Brads plans for the DLC and # of expansions in a vain effort to explain what the future plans were for content

Responses to that were

"That proves my point it is too good to be true" ????? What?

and

"That proves Stardock is releasing DLC for the sake of releasing DLC" ???? WHAT?

It's really just pointless. They're not there to have an actual discussion. They jsut want to

1) Whine the price is too high

2) Whine that Early Access is the bane of PC gaming and will destroy PC gaming as we know it

And no amount of logic is going to dissuade them from their 'cause'.

I have no idea why you needed to add so many paragraphs to the general subject of trolls.   Everybody here knows all about trolls, so you have no new information to add.   Most people just get angrier reading about trolls, which is one of the things we know fuels trolling.  Was there something constructive you were trying to accomplish, or did you (and I, by replying) just spill some of Steam's troll load onto Stardock fourms?

^^^ exactly what I was thinking erischild.

I mean no offence Darca, but it's almost hard to believe (if you've been on the internet in the last decade or so) that this is your first experience with 'trolling/trolls'.  What I mean to say is everyone/everything gets 'trolled' these days and it's not like that is a revelation either since the 'art' of complaining has been around I'm sure since the very first product/service.

Just take it all in stride.  The more noise one makes about the 'noise' of complaining the more 'noisy' people one attracts.  It's like moths to a flame..... O:)

I have encountered trolls and jerks, I just thought that when you need a credit card, a good PC, and internet that those requirements would cull the trolls especially for a alpha. Turns out I was wrong. Trolls wait five years to play games for a buck, steal laptops and internet signals. That reality bewildered me, so I went on a hilarious rant which eventually calmed me. :)

besides, those few idiots are hanging around the steam forums where there is a big audience to hear there stupid. Hear it's *safe.* :| (ok there were to locked post, but that was I while ago. Lol.)
