Debug Console!

Some interesting things

There is a Debug Console in the game so you have some interesting commands to play with.

Just hit the "`" key, it's above the Tab key.

Type help and you can get a list of commands to try out!

To get more info about a particular command just type "help command

there are some interesting ones like

fps - displays fps along with other rendering statistics
fow - which gets rid of Fog of War
god - allows you to control all factions (helps to have Fog of War off)
turnactions -  toggles the ability to end turn without dealing with idle ships or colonies

Hope this helps everyone to test different things!

Have fun! :)

When you are done improving a colony, if you don't want to build anything or any ships, just set the planet's production (through colony governor) to only wealth/research.

The command "sectorlines" does not work, and the description text seems to fit GC2 more than it does GC3? "Help sectorlines has the description: "The sector lines command will toggle the rectangular sector lines on and off."

Here is a very interesting debug command "showmem". It answers all the questions about how much virtual memory a game has in use and gives an estimate of how much it can use by end game time.

Yeah, some commands don't really seem to do anything right now.  Or I don't understand how to use them. xD
It's fun to play with though.
