Start8Srv.exe under Process Explorer utility

from Stardock Forums

Runing the Process explorer utility i see under Start8Svr.exe twice the Start8_64.exe process.

Process                  id      Private byte      Working set  

Start8Svr.exe       5192    1.200 K            1.068 K

1. Start8_64.exe  4896    1.276 K            3.788 K

2. Start8_64.exe   908     1.284 K            4.026 K

Killing process No 2 everything continues to work OK.

Is this situation OK?

How many user accounts do you have logged in?

The program was installed under the administrator account. But either the administrator or any other account, with or without administrator prevalence log, has the same result. A second copy appears in the memory of my pc but only the administrator can kill the second process. The program with one or two copies works perfectly  :grin: .

After the latest update chrome and the start 8 menu behave strange and lag. When clicking the start 8 button i get the message "windows not responding" This only happens when the computer has been turned on for a while. Also the computer wont shut down. when i choose shut down. The computer freezes and stops responding. I have to hard reset the comuter from this point.

First i thought my computer was broken but when my girlfriend started experiencing the exact same problem on her laptop when she updated start 1 day later .

Jacquelineanna - It sounds like your PC is having some problems. I would suggest running Windows update and maybe try running the SFC /scan command from the cmd window.
