na, no dictatorship quite yet- the republic shall keep its rrots in freedom...
End of quote

you guys are really going to need a dictatorship. No way the Republic will win otherwise. But you will have to hope that a great man rises to the occassion to lay low those pirates, but returns to his humble position after the time of crisis. Otherwise, you'll have to change your name from the Republic to the Empire.

One bland name to another.

LMAO!!! It's words like those that got them to declare war on us in the first place. Make fun of their yoda dollies and they'll declare war on the white council next.

Score since war declared

Pirates +30k Oh so bland ones. +zero.

There are many types of wars, and many reasons for fighting them. Sometimes one fights not only to win, but simply to do his small part in this crazy mixed-up place we call a galaxy. [Cue patriotic music] I for one care not one whit if we are considered to be a gnat buzzing around the 800 lb. gorrilla. I rather be a buzzing gnat than a... um... than a non-buzzing gnat.

Not that we are gnats, but some people characterize us that way. I'd say we were more like ants... an army of ants. The biting kind. But ants don't buzz and I kinda like that whole buzzing thing. It kinda gets to you. Where was I? Well anyways, um... hurray for our team!

Edit: Speaking of an army of intergalactic insects, didn't you just hate those klakons in mooI & II? Man, I loved stomping them out of existance!

I brought in just over 8K yesterday.

BTW, its the thought that counts.

Two guards are stationed outside the Republic War Room...and are approached by two large yellow bananas, wearing striped pyjamas, trailing an astromech droid behind them.
Guard: "HALT! No one gains admission to the War Room! Especially not two suspicious looking bananas and a droid!!"
B1: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B2?"
B2: "Yes, B1. [gestures towards guard] These aren't the bananas you're looking for. They can go about their business. Move along."
Guard: "These aren't the bananas we're looking for. They can go about their business. Move along."

The bananas, with their droid, enter the War Room. They leave shortly after, without the droid.

Fogman is monitoring the progress of the war against GROSS when he notices his scanner console fails to respond. Fog: "R2-D2, see if you can lock down that malfunction in the scanner. R2?" The droid does not respond. Fogman examines the little droid..."Well...looks like you got a little carbon scoring in here, fella..."
Fogman manages to extract some debris from the droid. "Hey...this isn't carbon....it's WOOL[BaaaBLAMM!!]

Republic News Network (RNN)... The War Room was rocked today by a sneak attack on the Chancelor. Chancelor Fogman is recovering from Severe Carpet Burns over 50% of his body. The burns appear to have been inflicted by wool flying at a high rate of speed. The Department of Imperial...Umm Homeland Security reports the suspension of all rights of Sheep Herders and that once rounded up they will all be sent to a warm sunny location for "interogation". More news later. :)

That's the spirit, Popester! Let's see more role-playing from the Republic. :)

Hello all , sorry I have been absent recovering from the sneek attack by the ANZACS, still debating declaring war on them... Well good news on the war front! Super-capital ship USS Retaliation has destroyed a GROSS outpost in sector 46, 84. Heres the what the voice and data recorder picked up..

Captain: Control, this is the USS Retaliation, come in.

Control: We read you Captain, your signal is eminating from the Frontier area of sector 46, 84.

Captain: Correct control, we have an enemy outpost on our scanners, requesting permission to engage.

Control: Have you been detected?

Captain: Negative, we are cloaked 5 parsecs from the outpost. We are reading some enemy activity.

Control: Attempt to contact them, and proceed according to the Rules of Engagement.

Captain: Roger control, Captain Mothma out.

Captain: Attention GROSS station you are in Republic space, state your intentions.

Outpost: (accordion playing and laughing in the background) "Oh, we're justa boozin' whats it toosen we aint doin nothin but sitten and drink. We are all drunkards but we'rea gonna bustya, even though we couldnt fly straight if we wanted tooo. Oh, ya better go and hide now cus we're gunna try and fly out so be seein ya soon on the end of my ship."

Captain: Lutenant, ready the main gun, target the power generator.

2nd Officer: Sir, the docking bay doors are opening on the Outpost.

Captain: Charge the Ion Beam, fire!

A large blue column of energy is emited from the aft gun and strikes the power generator of the outpost, causing a chain reaction and destroying the outpost in a nuclear fireball. The USS Retaliation decloaks and warps back to Corusant for resupply, after deploying drones to monitor the sector.

A diminutive, unemposing figure examines the latest battle report from fogman and nods his head approvingly. He then looks over another update from a small sector of the galaxy:

MMMmmm... faught well has LifeWish! More points secured have we. But much work left there is.

Prewar: July 1st
G.R.O.S.S. 328,146.1
Republic -- 84,707.5

July 6 update
G.R.O.S.S. 425727.3 difference of 97581.2
Republic - 115399.6 difference of 30692.1

G.R.O.S.S has consumed an empire larger then
the Republic was at the beginning of the war.

Current ratio is over 3:1 in G.R.O.S.S favor,
consulting the UP handbook

10:1 Did we hit something dear, I think I heard a bump
5:1 Complete annihilation
4:1 Utter obliteration
3:1 They have gone the way of the dodo
2:1 They were hopelessly outclassed
3:2 You massacared them!
6:5 An easy victory!
9:8 A mild victory!
17:16 They came close, but no cigar
33:32 You call that a victory? Well, I guess.

Well, I guess they are only going the way of the dodo, so far :)

Meanwhile aboard the Doomstar. So these pipsqueek's destroyed an outpost eh? Which one.?

Staffa: Remember that one where we left you know who's you know what?

Pontius: Oh you mean that little shack where we left Impune's lap poodle?

Staffa: Yup

Pontius: Bwahahahahahahha won't he be upset? Did the door's open and distribute the nanovirus? LMAO. And how many Republic systems have we destroyed?

Staffa: Well I lost track at 100, I don't likely know. And yes, nanovirus distributed.

Pontius: Excellent.

To the republic: This war is going very badly for you. Nevertheless, we shall offer a peace treaty, because we are just that nice.

Republic gives: Every system they own save one. (which isn't many now that we've destroyed most of em)

G.R.O.S.S. gives Peace treaty.

Meanwhile back at the daily Ministry of Information Brief.....the minister reports

"There are no G.R.O.S.S. soldiers at the spaceport!"

"Today we slaughtered them in the spaceport. They are out of Fogman Starnational Spaceport."

"They (G.R.O.S.S.) are superpower of villains. They are superpower of Al Capone." (Unwittingly complimenting them)

"You can go and visit those places. Nothing there, nothing at all. There are Republic checkpoints. Everything is okay."

"Yes, the G.R.O.S.S. troops have advanced further. This will only make it easier for us to defeat them"

Stay tuned to RNN for more news and a briefing by SPACECOM Cdr Lifewish.

Meanwhile, there seems to be a great increase in the number of sheep reported missing on Republic systems- the security services are now taking steps to secure all known sheep in the system, to prevent any further "benefits" to an unnamed empire- this unnamed empire's soldier are known for not fighting till they've had fun with old "wooly", to put it bluntly..

Why wouldn't we hire him?? I mean he has experience with successful empires and we need men of candor like him on our side. We are still looking for that wonderful "journalist" from the NY Times to add to our staff.

Okay, like, we're in 8th place now. :CONGRAT:
We need a real push to make it stick, 'cause Gamma Squad won't take this lying down!

Oh yeah, in case you didn't notice, G.R.O.S.S. is really big.

I glanced down at my watch - just after 2100 GST. Nuts. Late for my report again. After establishing a hyperlink with the Doom, EBZ's face appeared on the screen.

"Where's Gerraken?" I asked.

"On leave. You're late again, Kit."

"Sorry, but that outpost I was supposed to check on blew up in my face!"

"Yeah, we heard about that." If he was concerned, it didn't show. Just like a pirate. "Have you encountered any bananas or sheep?"

"ANZACs? Why are they in this sector?"

"You know they love a good show. The boss wants..."

My screen blacks out for a second and the blurred image of a dark figure appears. "I hope G.R.O.S.S wins!" he yells. Space is a weird place.

"...because we haven't received a reply from those yahoos yet. Understand?"

"Too much static. Say again, EBZ."

"Head back to the front! Monitor Republican comms! Got it?!?!"

"Roger, out." I swung the corvette around in a sharp turn. Why did he want me to check on pointless political crap? Oh The Republic! We're still at war?
