LCARS Windows 8 "Modern" APP

This Is Too Cool!!

Hey there Trek fans! I discovered this cool app based on LCARS I thought you guys might like.

It does some cool things, I wish it did more, but it is nifty.

Just wanted to share. Check my short video. It has LCARS sounds, but they didn't make it to the vid, for some reason.  :annoyed:

It can be obtained in the Microsoft Store.

Since the dawn of [skinning] time there have been alternate shells to replace the standard Windows one [explorer.exe].

It's certainly not surprising people are now noticing this since the release of Win 8.

No, that's not XP ....that is Win 3.11 ....;)

yes, i know.  my question was whether or not that particular shell inhibited standard computer use in any way.

@captainmoonlight: do you find the ui any more (or less) efficient than the windows default?

Sweet! Even better that it does seem (so far) to run quite well on W7. I'm so far behind and have no idea when I'll ever get W8 or be able to update my subs, so this was a treat. Thanks for the post and link Redneck!!!!!  I haven't been able to do much graphically but hope to soon. I've been having some vision issues but hope to have them corrected soon. Then, the only on-line gaming (Star Trek On Line) I do has updated and surpassed my pc/graphics card and is all but impossible to play. My dream right now is to get a real gaming computer that can handle STO and give me the best graphics for what i love (and miss) doing.

This LCARS stuff is great. Thanks again for the link!!!
