Mysterious Advent Green Beams

I just can't figure it out.

I was playing Diplomacy recently, and I noticed these mysterious green beams between advent structures and ships during a battle with a Vasari enemy. I cannot figure it out. I don't think it is a capital ship ability or frigate ability on either the Advent or Vasari side, or a research bonus. There doesn't seem to be anything on the info cards either. Here are some screenshots:

A Temple of Communion and a hanger seem like an unlikely combination, but they are linked here:

Now a frigate factory, a Halcyon, a Domina, and a Beam Defense Platform party:

The worst one is this one with a trade port. Why are there so many beams??

As the info on the Disciple shows, there are no effects. Does anyone have any ideas? This might be in Rebellion as well, but I have not played enough yet to find out.

I'm pretty sure it is a Vasari ability of some sort, though I don't remember which one right now.

It's the upgrade to Kanraks and Junsuraks that disables their movement while allowing them to deal chaining damage. I can't think of the name... Charged Missiles. Nevermind, I could think of the name.

I'm pretty sure it's actually Unity Mass doing it's chaining damage...

Thank you, WOEaintME! k1   You are correct. After testing it out it is the Kanrak's ability. I didn't test enough to see if the sentinels do the same thing.

Well, that mystery is solved. Seleuceia, I said I was playing Diplomacy, so I guess you are trolling. Trying to ensnare noobs with misinformation?

You don't understand. Unity Mass doing chain damage would be like sign of the Messiah for Seleuceia. For years he has, like an outcast prophet, claimed that balance could be restored to the game if only unity mass did chaining damage. Since there is apparently a particle effect that can look like that, in his mind the devs no longer have an excuse for not granting his wild fantasy. ;)

Oh, some subtle innuendo?

I just looked up Unity Mass on the wiki. I guess it does not do AOE, but single target damage boosted by nearly friendly ships. Thanks for indirectly improving my knowledge, GoaFan. :D
