Window 2012 - Desktop Link fails on 1.31

When Windows 7 Style is enabled on indows 2012 the Start 8 "Desktop" menu option fails with a "This program does not have a file assoicated with it to perform this action...".  The Dialog title is  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start8\Links\5.Lnk" .

I've installed it on a second Windows 2012 server and same error is present.

I've reproduced it (on R2 as well). Odd, as all the other ones are still working. We'll see about getting that patched.

It is now July 2015, any idea when this will be fixed?   I know windows 2012 isn't your primary market but with 10 out it may become more of your market, and you do list it as one of the options for start8 so it would be great if all the options on the start menu worked.

I think there is some confusion here.  There is no desktop link in Start8, but there is a games explorer link and Server 2012 lacks this which is causing the OS to report the title as "Desktop" as that's the string the OS returns for unknown virtual folders.

To resolve this issue simply disable the games link in Start8 on the configure page.

I will make sure future updates hide that option on Server OSes.

If you wish to make a shortcut to desktop you can use the advanced option in Start8 to create a right hand list entry to point to that location.
