Installed Ultimate Edition-No mega events

Can someone help?  I installed Ultimate on my new laptop.  I've been playing GalCiv2 for a few weeks now.  It runs beautifully.  However, I haven't had a mega event yet.  Not one.  I have the option checked.  Any ideas? I have cheats enabled so I can make a mega event using control + y.  Anyone know why there simply haven't been any?  It's literally been 24-36 hours of game time. Thanks.

are you sure the option is checked?  what size maps are you running?  How far have you played??  I find those events on the larger maps do not start till nearly every planet on the map is filled..  Perhaps around the time about half the total techs are researched?   maybe 5-6 yearly meetings have happened..

 

If you restarted games a few times, you might not of gotten one.  I know sometimes i will play for 8+ hours on a single game and not have an event happen..  though the map size i play, that is maybe 1/3 of the way through a single game

Thank you.  You nailed it.  I always play on immense maps and I have been restarting continuously.  I like to search for a game I can commit to for weeks.  Sure enough, Friday night, after at least 4 or 5 meetings, the Dread Lords returned, lol.

awsome!   Yea.. I habitually restart too till i get a game that i wan't to finish..  I think it has to do with playing those giant maps :)
