I created this transmute spells line (Tactical spell) and gave it a somewhat high priority (in the 30ish so yeah, somewhat high).

Interesting. But what do battles look like now? I believe auto-resolve combats are now huge Internationl Transmutational Olympic Contests.

But seriously - AI pays more attention to metal than crystal, so it always have lack of crystals. Default units don't use many items which require crystals. After you made the xtraunits mod, you made more elite ai troops which need crystals. By making the spell, you shifted balance from metal to crystal... For some period AI prospered. But now AI is sitting without metal. How to struggle with this?

I think, thare is nothing bad to give all AI units possibility to produce resources themselves as it is done in Patchwork mod https://forums.elementalgame.com/450250/page/1/ With the help of AI-only units it's possible to help AI with resources, unrest, fame, production, city growth. Thus AI can grow 5 level cities even on 1 grain tiles, never suffer from unrest, produce evrything quickly. You can take ideas for your mod from my CoreUnits file.

Note that from Expert level AI is already cheating, but all levels before Expert are weak and not interesting. Stupid AI needs stupid help imho, but this should be done invisibly for human player.

After looking at all the craap that was put into the transmutation spell line these mods are not worth the effor. It's plain to see he wanted some advantages that normally wouldn't happen like transporting objects several squares away and this vault madness, getting rares and ultra rare by just settling and building some buildings. The is suppose to be an explore and find game not give it to me on a silver platter game. Sure the ai can use these features too and it probably does make it better, but, it also gives the player advantages he shouldn't have. I liked the idea until I saw all that other craap that is included.

Hey if you can't take the ridicule then don't post any threads. It's a horrible mod and worthless to me. That's my opinion and I will stick to it. You did or whoever made those mods you linked did nothing but make the game easier even if it did improve the ai performance.

I don't like some mods but I don't go on the modders' threads and dis them.  There's a difference between not liking some mods and being disrespectful to the modder, who is after all, not getting any financial renumeration for it.  If you don't like the mods, don't use them.  What is the point of coming on a thread and being disrespectful to a modder when your only reason is that you don't like the mod because you think it makes the game too easy?  I have used both the champion units and the regular units with the special artifacts and it does not make the game too easy on the higher difficulty levels.  Most of the time the artifacts are so expensive that you can only buy a few of them.  And sometimes the AI makes use of them too, both champion and trained unit kinds.

Don't use the mod and don't dis the modders, simple.  Above all else, do no harm.

I'm not being disrespectful I'm stating facts about the mod. Not attacking the modder or whoever he is. The fact that they don't get paid shows in the mods. They rush thru them changing numbers not even thinking about the consequences throughout the whole game. That's why we have PROFESSIONAL designers and programmers. Those that know. Modders are for the most part flybynight wanna be game makers. But, they do not have the education or the money to be one or they probably would be. I certainly can see the advantage of the mod, but, I look at everything not just the FLUFF of a mod and go all ewwww wow best mod I ever played crapola. I also see the disadvantages and exploits. Sometimes even before they happen.

Quoting willie,

If you can't be constructive, you can take your 'facts' elsewhere. There is no need or value in insulting others and their work because you dislike what they've shared.

He takes that level of hate/flaming into every single thread on the whole board, just saying.

Just because I'm not here 24.7 on a holiday doesn't indicate approval; the 'don't be a jerk' rule applies to everyone.

What in the hell was the rant about anyway?

Solved in that the AI does not keep 2000 metals anymore --> it uses the transmute spell line and it creates Epic stacks... but yeah it's a little bit unclear I guess. Maybe it should be just "improved"

May be it would be better to keep resources but transfer excessive Gold or Mana into resourses? If AI reaches, say, 1000 gold he casts the spell and gets all types of resources.

How about transmuting fame into resources, when it reaches 801 points? (Who needs fame when all heroes are collected?)

How about adding  "construct options" for a city - "produce metals", "produce crystals", "produce horses", "produce wargs" as it is done for "produce wealth", "produce research" etc.

You can still get more heroes at later thresholds > 800 fame.  Not that it's something to spend a great amount of effort striving for or anything...
