Mining Ships

Movement Point Problems

Hi,

Having a problem wondering if anyone else has noticed or if I am doing something wrong.  When I build a mining ship with two ion engines on it.  It has a 3/3 movement at the beginning of the turn.  And will move 3 squares per turn until it reaches the asteroids I tell it to mine.  However after it is done setting up the first mine, all of my mining ships, revert to a 1/1 movement rating, should I need to build new mining ships?  Is this a bug?  Or something I am doing wrong to cause this.  Even if the ship has 3 Impulse engines on it, it will only move one square per turn after it has successfully mined the first time, until then it moves like 6 or 7 squares.  So I have been just destroying them after the ship mines the 3 or 4 squares adjacent and building new mining ships to travel between clumps of asteroids.

I also have seen this sort of thing. I've concluded that anything entering/exiting/moving through an asteroid field only gets 1 move. To test your ships, try moving the next turn (after they left the asteroid field completely the turn before). Their normal movement should be restored.

all ships that stop on top of or try to move pass by going through an asteroid field automatically gets their movement speed penalized, effectively reducing the movement to 1.

Thank you, I should check for sure again.  It seemed to me that after they left the asteroid field it was 1/1 and then for the next bunch of turns it was still 1/1 because I built a new mining ship, the new mining ship was eta 4 turns to the new mining area, but the original mining ship that you start with was eta 24 turns, because its movement was now 1/1.  I usually play with the speed bonus +2, so that my ships move as fast as possible.  I will do a better more thorough check to see if it is temporary, it seems to me that it is not, but I am not 100% till I check again.  Thank you so much for the answers and the quick responses.

I am dumb, I was looking it over again and the 1st turn after it leaves it says eta 24 turns, cause it is 24 squares away, but hit turn again and it is back up to 6/6 and says eta 3.9 turns.  So that answers that.  Thanks all.
